Hostal la Estación

Very clean basic Hotel directly located in the Avila trainstation building. Perfect for train travellors. Very friendly staff. No air conditioning. Getting loud with the trains when windows are open. 15min walk to Avila oldtown center.

The room was spacious and clean. The location was great because it was right in the train and close to the bus station. The bad thing is that the walls are paper thin and you can hear your neighbors’ conversations. I had very noisy neighbors that woke me up at around one am on one side, they were noisy for about one hour, then the other neighbor came back and they were noisy until about 4 am so I only got 2 hours of sleep. Also, there is no elevator and you have to climb 4 flights of stairs to get to the floor with rooms so if you have heavy luggage I hope you are strong and don’t mind the workout. I wouldn’ stay here again because sleep is important to me. Bring earplugs.

Avila worth visiting Modest, but large and clean rooms at the railway station. Not much noise despite the location, not far from the services. Not in the old center, but it's easy to walk there or take a taxi or bus. The reception has limited midweek availability, but it's possible to arrange the check-in in advance.
