Pergamos Hotel

The sound insulation is not good and the cleaning noise is very loud.

I do not recommend hiring any accommodation in this place at all. The first day when we arrived at the rooms, we found many (literally) cockroaches, running inside the sheets and the floor, in addition to dried blood stains on the sheet and the bathroom flooded. We filed a complaint at the Pergamos hotel in Athens and obviously we urgently left for another accommodation. We reported everything that happened to the Reception requesting a refund for that night that, obviously, we were not going to spend at that hotel. The hotel gave us REGRETTABLE treatment arguing that they can't do anything. We even showed them on-site photos and videos of the cockroaches and blood and bathrooms. And yet, they have charged us for that night that we did not enjoy. / I absolutely do not recommend hiring any accommodation at this place. To be concise the only thing I can say CLOSE. The hotel is located in an incredibly dirty and seedy area of ​​Athens. The hotel is perfectly suited to the surrounding context. Hygiene is an unknown concept in this structure, even the myriad of animals that populate it know it. The bathroom is practically comparable to a public bathroom. The shower is the jewel in the crown with its moldy curtain. The rooms welcome you with the stench of old smoke. The bed is to be discovered for comfort and cleanliness. The air conditioner cannot be used due to bad smell and noise. The rest is still to be discovered but I think I've got the idea.

The hotel is in a very unsafe neighborhood that is scary at night (and during the day too). But the worst thing is that when we arrived, they gave us room 305, and as soon as we opened the door we saw many small cockroaches running all over the room! We told the receptionist (who was at least friendly and looked for a solution), and they gave us a room in another hotel a 15-minute walk away. We had to walk this journey alone at 1 in the morning in a very hostile environment, with very strange people on the street. When we arrived at the other hotel (Socrates Hotel) the impression was not much better, and they also gave us the worst room they had available: a cellar with no windows to the outside. The worst experience of the trip to Athens without a doubt. I recommend paying a little more and looking for other accommodation in another neighborhood, because a place like this can ruin your vacation!
