The short version: this is a modern hotel, well located and offers a great value for money. The long version: Getting there: from the airport we took the metro to Monasteraki (9€) then the hotel is literally across the street. Check-in: we got there early and the friendly front desk staff offered us water and kept our luggage while we went for a walk. When we came back the room was ready. The room: this room was spacious and modern. The shower was clean and well equipped. It has a small tv but we didn't use it at all. The room was cleaned and the towels replaced every day. The hotel is located in a busy area but the room was quiet. One thing worth mentioning is that there are graffitis everywhere in Athens and the hotel entrance is not an exception. So don't get discouraged by the hotel outside look. The stay: The hotel is just a minute walk from Monastraki metro station which gives access to two metro lines. You can pretty much go anywhere from there. The Monasteraki square itself is always busy day and night. The restaurants are abundant nearby and the food is delicious. We start our morning with a breakfast at the sister location 360 hotel: the breakfast is included and we were pleasantly surprised by the quality and the variety of the options. They start serving breakfast at 7am. There are many archeology sites nearby including the Acropolis which is a 30 minutes walk from the hotel. I would recommend going there early (8am) to avoid lineups and the big crowd. The staff were friendly and helpful every time we interacted wirh them. Check-out: fast and smooth. Nothing special to mention.

Though most of this establishment are private rooms, I stayed in the 8-person dorm, so that is what I am reviewing. While this hostel was very clean and well serviced, it isn’t as good as some other hostels I’ve stayed in recently. The beds were not the most comfortable, though I did sleep alright on them. The beds are completely in the open, so there is absolutely no privacy at all. Also, there are limited electrical outlets, so, depending on how busy it is, you might be fighting for plug space (fortunately the dorm was less than half occupied during my visit, so it wasn’t much of a problem). The dorm does have one, ensuite bathroom, which I imagine results in queues during the busy season, however it is very clean. Lockers are available outside the dorm room for your bags/valuables. The dorm is located on the second floor, over streets which are quite busy late at night, so you will hear the din from the crowd below (light sleepers beware!). Two of the best aspects of this hostel as it’s location and rooftop terrace. Five minutes walk from Monastiraki Square, everything you want to see in central Athens is a stones throw away. The rooftop terrace is absolutely wonderful, with magnificent views of the Acropolis and the old city. A great place to enjoy a few beers in the evening (and a killer sunset), a coffee in the morning (with a terrific sunrise), or just catching some rays in the afternoon. See photos. For the location and terrace alive, I’d stay here again…but would probably opt for a private room.

Didn't get off to a good start as my wallet was stolen getting off the metro, so wasn't in the best of moods, but the people on reception gave me some advice and the morning after we missed breakfast as we wanted to go and report the theft, the person on reception pointed us in the right direction for the police station. The rooms are pretty much as you find in Greece, everything you needed, bath was far to small for me but shower did its job, free safe in room as well. So on the second morning we went for breakfast, this is the highlight of this hotel, as you walk into the breakfast area you are greeted by a really friendly lady who cannot do enough for you and she comes across as a very happy person, typical Greek fare and enough to set you up for the day, bonus number two the view is amazing and as you walk further round the Acropolis appears, it was a great way to start the day. There is also a roof top area where you can sit and drink and at night the Acropolis is lit up and looks magical. The first impression of the area isn't that good, but once you get used to it, its fine, it did seem very safe and literally round the corner there are little streets full of nice bars and shops, it was also very quiet at night which made for a good nights sleep, I would stay here again if I am ever in Athens.

Our family greatly enjoyed our stay here. The room was spacious and the bed was quite comfortable. The WiFi is very fast, the air conditioning was cold, the water pressure was great. Our room had a little balcony. Highest complements to housekeeping. My husband said this may be the cleanest bedroom in his life. Breakfast included fresh options, pastries, and hot food choices. It was a short walk to the acropolis also. Staff was friendly and helpful. Thanks for a great stay!

Negative points:Breakfast buffet has less variety of food. It needs to include fruit squeezer and fried eggs. Black people stay nearby. Positive points: location is very good with 2 metro stations, especially omonia where 2 metro lines interact. They are very helpful for tourist to visit interesting places like acropolis. Staff service is excellent. Indian restaurants nearby offer delicious but cheaper food.

The hotel is well-equipped with good sound insulation. The hotel itself is not bad. The driver who picked up said that our hotel is located in the worst district in Greece. There are many thieves and refugees, and we were asked not to go out at night and pay attention to safety. So we didn't go out after we checked in and checked out early the next morning. Hotel service staff was kind.

Had a fab fantastic stay at the Apollo. Reception staff are lovely . Taxi service to and from ( holiday extras cheapest I found as I Didn’t want bus £74 return fab driver both on time . This is a great central location . The breakfast buffet is the same . But who cares it’s food and it’s included . I’m not a complainer . Get on with it .fab rooftop and amazing views . I paid £330 for this including flights . Not transfer . Jan 23 . I came early and my trip was originally in March and that was £530 for same . So yeh I had a bargain. The rooms are just being decorated and it was lovely . Amazing cake shop on corner . Hop on hop off bus also around the corner . It’s ideal . I was advised as o was a solo female . Lots of asylum and homeless . They can be aggressive at times . Stay away from side streets and told not to go out in the dark . This is normal for me anyway . The sites are awsum and if u are a walker like me . Once u get your bearings . It’s got fab history . Winter is half price entries to all monuments . So Acropolis was only €10 It’s a must . The national park and other monuments are fab . I chose not to go to meteora. Delphi or the islands cruise . Simply readings to many bad reviews . No regrets . They are expensive and extremely long day . But I had a blast exploring athens .

Stayed for 5 nights, the location is perfect as there is a metro station right outside the hotel, which will take you to most of the major tourist sites. The hop on hop off bus stops right outside the hotel also, so if you are a tourist it's easy to get around from the hotel. As four ladies alone, we felt very safe and would get taxi's to and from hotel to go out in the evenings, which the helpful staff are happy to book for you. The breakfast is brilliant with lots of choices so you never get bored. We stayed in a standard room which was small but perfectly formed, with lovely decor and all the amenities you will need. The best thing about this hotel is the amazing rooftop pool, bar and restaurant. Our taxi driver from the airport told us it was amazing and many locals will go there particularly at the weekends. Staff are so friendly especially Denisa our lovely waitress, food and drinks are varied and very nice. I would stay here again if I'm coming to Athens.

GGuest UserWe spent five days here altogether. Our apartment was on the 4th (or 5th, if you use the US system) of the building, with a distant but distinct view of the Acropolis. There was a balcony, which was nice, but almost no street noise at night. The apartment was roomy, comfortable, spotlessly clean, and very modern. We were extremely comfortable there! The staff was very helpful, they gave us their WhatsApp numbers and were always available if we needed them. We loved the neighborhood: its only a five minute walk to the Acropolis museum, yet felt entirely like a regular Greek neighborhood rather than being in the ”tourist zone” of Plake. Lots of coffee shops, restaurants, etc. nearby. There was the ability to cook in the apartment although we didn't do that; but it was nice to have the coffee machine and kettle, and the provided coffee. We would certainly stay there again.

OO.N.AWell, well, well, what can i write or say about this gem. The Electra Palace Hotel, located bang in the middle of downtown Athens is absolutely superb. Everything the city has to offer is within walking distance from the hotel. The view of the Acropolis from our room is spectacular, not to mention the to ”die-for” view from the 8th floor restaurant - you can ”touch” the Acropolis from here!😄 The breakfast at the Electra Palace is top notch and is delicious. The service at the hotel is top notch, and one of the best I have ever experienced in over 30 years of travelling. The staff, from the concierge to the receptionists, and restaurant staff, all provided extremely high professional services. I will single out George, the receptionist, who made us feel extremely welcome with one of the biggest smiles and professional services I have ever experienced. George has a saying each time we interacted with him, and it was ”each time you smile, good things will always come your way.” This saying came through when George found my brand new Samsung Ear Bud after I lost it and the hotel began a whole day of searching inside the hotel and outside at the restaurants we visited. Thank you, George, you're the best. Also, Dimitris, who helped us with our luggages was fantastic. All in all, Electra Palace Hotel is a superb hotel, and we will definitely go back there.

GGuest UserLovely hotel, nice staff. Very friendly! The rooftop bar is great. Room had coffee, tea, nice bathroom, amazing view of Monastiraki square and the Parthenon. Only thing to note is this hotel is in the middle of lots of action, so it can be loud outside until ~ 3am. Of course, not the hotel’s fault, but we played some white noise and that was fine. Earplugs would work for those sensitive as well.

GGuest UserWe stayed at Be My Guest Athens for 6 nights in their superior bedroom with a balcony, and had a fantastic time! Our flight to Athens was very early, but reception was very helpful and prioritised getting our room ready to check in early, which was very much appreciated! Spacious room with air con and a lovely sized balcony. Honestly felt like we had our own apartment as we never heard nearby guests. Waterfall shower which was powerful and could always get to a good temperature easily. Daily housekeeping service with new towels everyday. We did have a drink on the rooftop bar, it was a lovely space and you can get a drink at the reception downstairs. Wouldn’t call it a bar so to speak, more just an area to enjoy in the hotel. Location is lovely in our personal opinion, downstairs is a supermarket and a bakery across the road. The next street along had some fantastic restaurants that we tried (Funky Taverna, Abibayo and Underdog) and in 5 minutes walk you can get to loads of coffee shops. You are close to Monstraki too which is about a 10 minute walk, near enough to enjoy without trying to sleep the noisiness. You are actually really close to the Acropolis too, if you walk! It’s about a 15 minute walk, you will have to change to a different line if you get the metro, and it’s a nice enough walk!

GGuest UserI had a wonderful 2 night stay at Hestia - Asklipiou 61 in Athens. The apartment and facilities are so modern, the property was really easy to access. I did have to call the customer service and they were quick and very helpful. The rooms are gorgeous, super super super clean. The bed was comfy and aircon worked a treat! The view from my room looked over the church which is stunning (the bells are a bit loud but don't last long). The only issue I could foresee staying here is the noise, if you are a light sleeper you may struggle to sleep with the noise from the bars below - however, I put on some white noise and it was no issue for me. Highly highly recommend!

GGuest UserIt is my pleasure to write this review of the hotel. My wife and myself came to Athens for a medical conference. Being religious Jews, I booked this hotel to be close to Chabad were we could eat kosher food and join prayers. In fact the hotel is less than a minute from the Chabad center. We found the hotel to be above expectations. The hotel is three years old, very clean, and very looked after. The receptionists at all time were very helpful and gave good suggestions. The room was very clean and had all the facilities needed for our stay. The breakfast on the roof level was good and presented very nicely (obviously we were limited to products that had no kosher limitations). My wife enjoyed the Spa very much including the pool and treatments. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and highly recommend this hotel especially to those people who want to be close to Chabad. GGuest UserI was very worried about this hotel after reading the reviews, however we had a wonderful stay for my 40th birthday, the hotel staff are wonderful and reception arranged a bottle of wine on the day of my birthday and also helped my partner arrange some flowers on the day too. We were in an Urban room at the front of the hotel with a view of the square. The room was enough space for the two of us just lacked space to hang up clothes. We ended up putting our cases under the bed. The bathroom was great no issues with water going everywhere. The decor was very dark throughout but we loved that. Would recommend taking ear plugs. Was generally a quiet stay there were no rooftop parties for our duration, but on the last night there was someone watching something loud on the tv & singing/talking loudly until very early hours. Beds were really comfy, the rooftop bar is excellent we always managed to get a sunbed food was also lovely from the bar. Breakfast was great. The location is a bit sketchy yes there are homeless people but it is a capital city and in comparison to London/Manchester we felt safe enough walking around sticking to the main roads- we did take a side street one evening after dinner and it was a bit iffy but generally in the day was ok just keep your valuables close. We used the metro and the hop on hop off bus is great to get your bearings. Hotel is central great for exploring. Would recommend the Street Food tour and a trip to Temple of Poseidon even though it was a long way.

VvasiliangI traveled here with my sister and adult daughter for a short stay before a cruise. The location is amazing. Hotel is located in a quiet area not far from Acropolis Musem and hop on/off bus stop is 2 blocks away. We had a lovely view of acropolis from our balcony, and I had mentioned it was my daughter's birthday, so we were given a nice fruit basket with other goodies to celebrate. There are a few restaurants nearby and a bakery which has excellent sandwiches. The included breakfast was very filling and offered eggs, sausages, several varieties of breads and rolls, fruit, awesome yoghurt, spanakopita, cereal, juice, and numerous baked goods. The room was very clean and had some storage and a mini fridge. There is a rooftop deck, but the stairs are very narrow. The staff was very friendly and very helpful with offering advice on things to see and giving great directions. The area is very safe and the hotel provides maps and access to guidebooks in their lobby. I would stay here again.

The location is highly convenient for sightseeing, considering it has a metro station a mere 300m from it. This metro has a direct link to the Acropolis just three stops away and allows you to access with relative ease much of Athens. Within the vicinity (10-15 minute walk) there are lots of very good restaurants and bars. However, be prepared to see many people using injectable drugs during broad daylight and within busy streets right outside the hotel - according to locals, a big issue currently in Athens and more specifically within Omonia. We had a room facing inside, which was cold, with no heater and poorly decorated, however they moved us without issue the following day. We asked for a front facing room with a street view. The decor in this room was much improved and it was reasonably sized, with a heater. The room was clean and soaps were replenished daily. The bathrooms had good facilities and showers were excellent with strong water pressure and constant hot water. Service was good: staff are friendly and helpful. The breakfast was inclusive and reasonable - I was a large fan of the filter coffee, which was refillable! We were half board, therefore breakfast and dinner was also included. The dinner was not our favourite, made worse by the fact there was no choice! Though, having said that, the salad was different each day and mostly enjoyable!
