Academias Hotel, Autograph Collection

Omonia Athens|1.3km from Argentine Republic Square
When I was younger, I spent two weeks in Greece to visit various places on the Peloponnese peninsula, but up until this year, I had never been to Athens before. I am someone who likes to explore places, and I often do not have day by day plans - but the one thing that is always important for me is a good base, a place to come back to in the late afternoon or evening to relax. I generally am not into nightlife, so I usually spend evenings in my accommodation - so I try to make sure to book a good place. I was tempted to go for a cheaper option, but after the last few years and all the stress, I decided to treat myself. Why earn all that money if I don’t use it right? I spent nine days in the Academias Hotel in Athens. I chose it because the location seemed ideal on a map. Fortunately, the reality also was not a disappointment. I visited the Acropolis a couple of times. It takes about 20-30 minutes to walk there, but I also saw that there are bus connections if you do not like to walk (I LOVE walking, because you also get to see more of the places and can sometimes come across interesting shops, parks, etc.). I could go on about places that are within easy reach, but you’re probably more interested in the hotel itself! The check-in was easy and I felt very welcome. There wasn’t a grumpy staff member in sight (hotel staff in certain places in the UK could learn from that friendliness!). I tried to impress with my few sentences of Greek that I learned, but fortunately, staff in this hotel has no problem with other languages. Not once during my stay did I have an issue with staff. They were all polite and respectful. The big plus for me also was that they did not annoy me. Friendly yes, but they did not make me feel harassed like it can happen in other hotels. While I did obviously check out photos of the hotel in advance before I booked, I was pleasantly surprised by my room (I booked a room with a king-sized bed). Everything was very clean, and there were BOOKS on the shelves. That was really a nice touch, I think. The bathroom was HUGE, and let me tell you: the showers are awesome. You’ll really appreciate a good shower after an active day in Athens, especially in summer! It was lovely! The room was nice and I had lots of space. The writing desk was perfect because I’m a writer and always in need of such a space! There was even a nice little coffee machine. Of course, also the usual stuff like a TV (with Netflix access!), shampoos, all the stuff you’d expect from a high quality hotel. The hotel has a lot to offer in addition to your actual room. There is a gym (I didn’t use that, I didn’t go on holiday to work out) and also a spa if you are into that. Worth a mention is the food as well. There’s a great restaurant with excellent views - and the food is just as excellent, which makes this a wonderful eating experience. Breakfast was also excellent, I really can’t complain. If you feel like trying something else, there are also plenty of restau

Coco-Mat Athens Jumelle

Kolonaki Athens|1.57km from Argentine Republic Square
Coco-Mat became famous for the mattresses and natural products they create and staying in one of their hotels makes you understand why. + First off, the attention to detail is really something, the cleanliness and the fact that most of the items in the room as well as in the entire hotel, are made from natural materials (as most of them are sold by the company this makes sense, but they also collaborate with like-minded vendors, like the one of the hangers for instance - see photo). Even the room's ceiling was beautiful! I loved the ambience, the lobby was very cosy and beautifully decorated for Christmas. The neighborhood is one of the best in Athens, 500m. from the closest metro station and the Cycladic & Byzantin Museums are right around the corner. I didn't get a chance to taste the menu at the restaurant, but all looked delicious - hopefully next time! Also, in terms of cleanliness 10/10 for me, regarding the room as well as all public spaces. I'd like to save the best for last: THE bed. It was one of the best sleeps I've had in my entire life and it really exceeded my expectations! It is undoubtedly the most comfortable matress I've slept on and even though I have a chronic back pain, I did not feel any discomfort whatsoever. Sooo worth it! Ps. 1. small detail but worth mentioning: the breakfast plates are gorgeous - kudos to whomever chose them!! (see photo) Ps. 2. the breakfast was delicious with many savory and sweet options to choose from :-) Ps. 3. Comp mini-bar with refreshments was a great gesture! - There were 2 things that unfortunately did not lived up to my standards. First and foremost, personnel: I found it strange that while, during c/i, the FO associate tried to show me around and escort me to my room, a cleaning lady was in between and did not move nor greeted/acknowledged us. During breakfast: the personnel, although very polite, was often absent, leading a few of the guests searching/waiting for them. It wasn't quite clear what we were supposed to do, mostly regarding covid regulations: when I sat to my table, they brought placemats etc. but did not explain how it works - if it is self-service, what are the à la carte choices, etc. When I decided to stand up and walk towards the food station, they explained I needed to wear gloves before self-serving, but nothing about where to throw them afterwards - and I looked for a bin but didn't find one. Another guest walked in after me and as there was no staff around, he did not wear gloves-again no clearly-mentioned rules. At some point I asked for juice and the woman who delivered it (again, very polite) did not seem to be staff, judging from her outfit (I'm not sure if she had just finished her shift and did it as a favor to another colleague or if she even worked there at all..). On the same subject I found the staff in general a bit too informal for what I was expecting, but maybe that's just me. Secondly and minor but still: there was a bluetooth speaker in the room and alt

Very comfortable and clean rooms, fully equipped and new. Location may not be the best in town, but it’s anyway close enough to most tourist landmarks and business districts. AC worked flawlessly and helped us to deal with record temperatures of 44 degrees outside.

Breakfast: not very rich, but there are many types of bread, and canned yellow peaches Location: Not in the city center, about 1.5km to the east of the National Museum. Specifically, Syntagma Square in the city center is a bit farther, 3km, but on the airport line, walk to the airport line subway entrance 950 meters Parking: It looks like you can park at the door 🌟Highlights🌟: The service is very good! ! ! ! My luggage landed in Crete and sent it directly from Crete to this hotel, but I had not checked in at the hotel at the time. After contacting the hotel, I directly signed for the courier for me, paid the courier fee in advance, and then I supplied it to the front desk when I arrived. Touching

It was love at first sight with this hotel. From start to finish , our experience was everything a family can ask for when visiting a new place. Location, views, amenities nearby, friendliness of the staff, top notch cleanliness as well, and the pool with the views to die for... Our stay was a pleasant experience and we will definitely come back in the future!

I had a wonderful 2 night stay at Hestia - Asklipiou 61 in Athens. The apartment and facilities are so modern, the property was really easy to access. I did have to call the customer service and they were quick and very helpful. The rooms are gorgeous, super super super clean. The bed was comfy and aircon worked a treat! The view from my room looked over the church which is stunning (the bells are a bit loud but don't last long). The only issue I could foresee staying here is the noise, if you are a light sleeper you may struggle to sleep with the noise from the bars below - however, I put on some white noise and it was no issue for me. Highly highly recommend!

I was a little dubious before booking this hotel as it didn't have many reviews, and none of them were recent but I prefer to stay at independent hotels as I manage one myself and find that the overall quality of service is better than a large chain. We're not the sort of people who spend a lot of time in our room and generally only use it to sleep so we found it adequate, however they could do with some updating (especially the paintwork), and the safe didn't have keys or batteries which meant that it didn't work. the standard of cleanliness was satisfactory but I think additional time spent cleaning the rooms (ie dusting the lamps) would increase the rating greatly. The standard of cleanliness and decor in the bar/reception and breakfast areas was very very good, the air conditionaing was excellent, and Breakfast was good, and fresh. We had to leave very early for a tour on one day and the staff put coffee and cakes on the bar for us beforehand which was lovely of them. The staff are EXCELLENT! Very friendly - we met four staff, who greeted us like good friends every day, and with a lot of enthusiasm. There is a nice greek restaurant around the corner (do-re-mi) and a convenience store on the next corner. Taxis to the centre are around 5 euros. To summarise, it is a very basic hotel, but was adequate for our needs, and the staff really shone.

All are very good, very clean and very affordable, but I would not choose to live in this. Because there are many people in one room, I can’t rest well. I’m not 20 years old, I’m over 30, so let’s live in a quieter place. There is no need to live in this kind of student travel hostel to save money. I’m getting older and demanding more sleep. I want to turn on the air conditioner. The other girl feels cold, and I feel bored if I don’t turn on the air conditioner. I left at 2 o'clock in the middle of the night and changed to a four-star very luxurious hotel. The bed is so big and the sofa can sleep 2 people. This hostel recommends young people to live there. The design is particularly good and the location is also good.
