All in all, we found this hotel to be impressive, all rooms are clean, tidy, beautiful and correct, the hotel is well located about 15m from the old town. For ”but”, I will introduce the following. We stayed in two rooms for five nights. Travelled with older parents. Location is great for those wanting to be next to beach! Our stay was wonderful. Hotel is clean and modern. Our rooms were just right, clean, beds, sheets and pillows were comfortable! We slept well. No allergies. I was worried about pet dander but felt well in rooms. Heads up to the room cleaning team! 👍 Friendly and helpful. Everyday after our outings we came back to a clean room, beds made wonderfully. Breakfast was nice but nothing extraordinary. More options and larger selection would have been nice: avocado, better coffee. Service was nice. Hotel value/price/Quality/ was good! We parked off street and had no problems. If you don’t find parking on side street there is a huge free parking lot a 100 meters away! One con is that there isn’t enough lighting in the rooms especially for older folks. We will definitely stay here again.

Ideal location in the street Corrida de Gijón, shops, coffee shops and near the sea and all the tourist attractions. The room was very comfortable and the room was very comfortable. El Moderne is a great hotel situated in the heart of the fabulous city, Gijon. I traveled solo and stayed here for 8 days and had a lovely time. The hotel is stylish and impeccably clean. The staff are gracious and welcoming. It was easy to walk everywhere from such a convenient location and so close to the beach. I will definitely return next year.

A three-star hotel normal to spend a few days.To say something I don't like is that it has no air conditioning in the rooms, and the day of arrival to a hell heat in the room , Another thing I don't like is the little parking space that has if you go a little late to the night may not have parking.The facilities in if you may be a little out of time,the opening of the room is done with the key of the whole life iron instead of having the Typical card .As for the 10 staff at both the reception and the cafe and restaurant.About the food say that the breakfast type buffet is quite varied but does not have a cook who can make you a couple of frite eggs The menu of the food can't tell you why we've spent the days out but the dinner you have letters or meals combined these lasts at a good price.

The room is large and the bedrooms are fine, the only good with the location, views and the friendly staff. We went to Santa Week and the beds were dressed only with a sofa and a bed, we had a coat for the two beds we share because it was cold, we could have asked another, but we were so dressed. The box was dirty, with residues of mega in a box and dry fruit in another area, we complained at reception and they went up to clean it, putting as an excuse that there was a new girl for cleaning. The bathroom window was not closed well, was cold for shower****. The glasses of the window and the terrace were unclean, the curtains were “coated” with a hairdryer and not very clean. The wifi signal was not reached the room. The hotel as a whole is a beautiful place in a wonderful location. The first impression was great. Friendly and welcoming check-in. However, once details come up and they are not resolved, it becomes annoying. Rooms lack basic amenities like tissues, cotton buds, cotton pads, nail file (amenities that are standard in a 5 star hotel). The same room types, which cost exactly the same per night, differ in the amenities that are available in some and not in others. We have 3 rooms of the same category. For example, there is full body mirror in room 203. But a mirror in room 202. (Same room type.) There is a long full-length mirror in 203 and 103 and there is none in 202. There is also a coffee maker in 202 but not in the other 2 rooms.. these are small insignificant details. The biggest problem is not the lack of amenities but the lack of attention because there is not enough staff. It's really a ”one man show”.... In the F&B areas. At the reception... no one answers the phone when you need reception and the coffee at breakfast only comes after breakfast has already been served... feel sorry for the poor staff, they are overworked. However when you need something done in the room... you can call and call, they might apologise but no other solution is given other than a room move. Which on a holiday is not very practical. The bathroom blinds in room 202 are damaged, no one even tries to fix it. In room 203 the windows do not open (faulty) maintenance does not check the condition... only solution is a room move... it would be nice for at least a gesture of finding a solution... I hope the people in charge read this because the place is beautiful, it has a lot of potential and it would be nice if other future guests could enjoy it and not be annoyed by small details that add up and become a burden during the stay.
