Currently staying here with my partner. I will start by saying the hotel is absolutely beautiful. We are staying in a junior suite with a swim up room, well worth it. It’s spotless clean, and the pools are gorgeous, comfortable bed, lovely shower but the private pool really makes it. Areas for improvement: Check in When we checked in there were several other couples checking in at the same time, all other couples were shown straight to their rooms. However we were told we had to wait in the hotel bar as our room wasn’t ready? The staff member actually said to us “check in isn’t until 3” however the 3 couples before us had all got their room keys straight away. After sitting in reception for almost 2 hours I eventually went back and asked if our room was ready, it seems they had forgotten we were waiting. Very frustrating. Food For a 5 star hotel I must say the food is mediocre. We are staying bed and breakfast only, but did have dinner in the restaurant on the first evening , glad we didn’t choose all inclusive as I found the food underwhelming. Cold food, cold plates and not a lot of choice. I have stayed in other hotels some 4 star with better food. Location We have already spent so much money on taxis as there is nothing in the area. Although Menorca is beautiful and it’s well worth taking a trip out for the day. We visited Cala en porter beach and had food at the Menorca club which was amazing. We also went to Mahón for the day which was lovely! No nice beaches close by. In hindsight I wish we had hired a car. The cave at Cala en porter is spectacular, highly recommend a visit there! It’s about a 30 minute taxi ride. Also FYI You have to pay for The Bali beds in the main pool. All in all The hotel itself is absolutely beautiful but the service and food is not up to scratch for a 5 star hotel. Location is secluded so just bare that in mind if like us you don’t want to be sat by the pool every day.

We’re still here, day 2! It’s quiet, that’s what we wanted, and it’s still classed as out of season, although the glorious weather says otherwise! A beautiful and very clean hotel but the service is terrible. At lunch, you wait for 20 mins for someone to take your order, then 45+ mins for your food and forget getting another drink throughout your lunch, nobody comes to check if if everything is ok or to ask if you want another drink! Order via the APP, it never arrives! At least 1/2 hr wait before you go and stand at the bar and wait again! Really poor! We’re all inclusive and the selection of drinks is poor! Service to get one leaves you frustrated so you don’t get one! I wouldn’t recommend AI, although there’s nothing else close by to walk to, so you’d struggle, and you don’t want to go out too much when you’ve paid for a private pool and balcony! Pools full of debris at the bottom! Buffet isn’t great, plates cold, food cold! No background music plays, so it’s like a ghost town! Come on Hotel Manager where are you? Get this sorted! Your staff are working extremely hard, but there’s something seriously wrong somewhere in your planning! Today guests had to ask on average, 2-3 times to place an order or get a drink! We asked 3 times for a drink - nothing came!! It’s my first ever holiday on AI where Im not even slight tipsy! Poor value for money all round! I had so much hope for this hotel to become a new favourite? The best thing going for this hotel are the private pools! Poor service, not 5*

We stayed here for a last minute week away in July. Short flight and promise of sunshine made it an easy decision to make. On arrival we were greeted by friendly staff offering a glass of Cava. Unfortunately our room was not ready and given we arrived at 1400 we were slightly surprised. Nevertheless reception took our phone number and advised us we would receive a call. We had been on the road from 0400 in the morning so decided to take advantage of our all inclusive stay and have a drink and lunch while we waited. After 90 minutes we decided to check on our room and clearly reception had forgotten. We were escorted to our room and were very pleased with the standard. Modern decor with a lovely bathroom and doors onto our deck to a lovely swim up facility. Our neighbours to both sides were friendly however the close proximity meant that if had not been the case it could have been a difficult week. The design and layout of the hotel is great. Lovely pools and high standard of finish throughout. In terms of food it was varied. From our perspective Breakfast was consistently good. Varied offers and an opportunity for the chef to cook eggs or pancakes to your personal preference. Lots of pastries, fruit, cereal and cooked options. Lunch for all inclusive is served in the bar and the menu outlines what is included with a 'AI' adjacent to your choice. The choice is restricted in terms of drinks and food. I must say the Club Sandwich was magnificent! Dinner unfortunately was our least favourite. The salads where plentiful but the hot offer was poor. Chicken thighs as the meat offer is not what we would expect in a 4/5 star hotel. You can have the chef cook the choice of the day but this means you can be stood in a long queue. Our observation once again was around the drinks service. When you arrived the staff took your wine order. However a small glass of wine did not last through the meal and you needed to request a refill rather than be offered. This felt uncomfortable and often it was difficult getting the attention of the staff. I must say though that they work very hard and are extremely friendly in most cases. The bar looks out over the sea and you will be spoilt with wonderful sunsets. However you take your seat ar the bar and table service will take your order. Because of minimal staffing you will often be waiting a considerable length of time for both your order to be taken and a further long wait for arrival. My GP would be pleased as this meant alcohol consumption once again was limited to two drinks as again refills are not offered/encouraged. The staff in the bar work very hard but if someone asks for a coffee the poor waiter has to disappear for 10 minutes to bring it from the restaurant downstairs. In the meantime no other orders can be taken. Our observation is that reception often has two or three staff on shift but the bar has two and one night one member of staff. Managers walk round and engage with guests but do not appear t

I don’t know where to start. This hotel and the team of staff is the best we have ever experienced. Melania Herrera is the queen of experience management and delivered a flawless stay effortlessly. I tasked her with setting up a very special moment for me and my partner and she exceeded all expectations I had. The team stopped at nothing to make sure we had a fantastic stay, even remembering ours and other guests names for a personalised greeting whenever our paths crossed. Carlos Andres was spectacular in providing a friendly and efficient service at meal times along with staff Karem & Natalia. Barbara makes a delicious cocktail too! We stayed on an all inclusive basis, it was worth every penny. Food was absolutely fantastic and just what you require after spending a day in ultimate zen. We enjoyed a very special dinner at ‘Sa Tanca’ - please go and experience this for yourself the food was outstanding. What was most impressive is that we watched the team of staff here deliver this service to every single guest. True 5* style. Rooms are great too, we stayed in a Junior Suite with Semi-Private Pool and it was fantastic. Room cleaned everyday and pool was plenty big enough, even when our lovely neighbours were in at the same time we didn’t feel cramped at all. The view from our balcony of the ocean was awe-inspiring. The room was one of the best parts of our stay. We are so impressed that we are immediately booking to come back to experience both the island and hotel in a slightly cooler climate. If you are looking for a place to stay in Menorca where you can truly tune out and have every need catered for Barcelo Nura is your place. Thank you again to all the team at the hotel. This hotel has everything you could want on a quiet holiday, no thumping music during the day around the pool area, we were half board so enjoyed a nice breakfast and evening meal at the hotel, catering staff were lovely, food was lovely and the hotel was just a great place to chill out and watch the sunsets every night, it’s not for party animals and there is not much outside the hotel itself, unless you fancy a 25 minute walk, up or down the coast….we were there 29July for 7 days, temp was 36c, just what we wanted and needed ..so hanging around the hotel suited us, we could have used a brand new gym but the beer and a sun bed won every time 🤣…I don’t do all inclusive, because I have had bad experiences with that in the past, however we spoke to another couple who had chose all inclusive and they said they had been made to feel very welcome whenever purchasing drinks etc, so given the lack of options directly outside the hotel, I could see us going all inclusive next time. All in all a great weeks vacation, made all the more special by all the staff and the guys working nights at the reception…they could not be more helpful and friendly and really, when you get right down to it, that’s all you want on your holidays.

Boy was I ready for a relaxing break and Barcelo Nura provided that in spades. My son and I stayed for 4 nights, half board in a superior room. The hotel is spectacular, gorgeous location and a high end complex. The positives: - The staff are great, really friendly and helpful. - I've never been to a hotel with so many pools and with so many rooms having private pools the general pool areas are very quiet, you certainly won't have to fight for a sun bed. - The hotel app is super easy to use and very helpful/informative. - Breakfast was was the best meal of the day, plenty of choice and all high quality. In terms of downsides: - The coastline is rocky and you may struggle to find a sandy beach. - If you want to eat outside of the hotel it's quite a walk to Punta Prima and you'll probably have to walk as taxi's are like hen's teeth. In hindsight I wish we'd gone for the all-inclusive option as options for eating out were limited. - Be brave if you use the lobby toilets - the lights are on a timer and cut out far too soon. - Wear your flip-flops at the pool as the decking surrounding the pool heats up to super hot. - The Breeze pool bar only serves food from 1pm to 4pm, you can still get food at the Llimona snack bar (which is in exactly the same place, not sure why its got a different name) but its a limited offering. It would be so much better if you could get the full menu from 11am to 7.30pm. - Dinner was buffet style. We had no complaints about the quality of the food but were a little underwhelmed by the choice. Overall a great holiday and we'd definitely go back.

Firstly, the hotel and grounds are immaculate and very well presented, however we were very disappointed with our experience of the Barcello. We booked a week in a superior room at the hotel starting on the 19th of July which cost us more than £3500. The transfer company from the airport had no idea we were arriving however they managed to get us on a bus for the transfer to the hotel. On arrival there was one young girl trying to book us all in, and unlike other 5-star hotels we were not offered a glass of Champaign or a towel. After being booked in we were taken to our superior room which was immaculately decorated and furnished, however the view I can only describe as appalling, we were looking at a fence overlooked the carpark at the rear of the hotel. I immediately returned to the reception area and complained about the room, I was offered another alternative and was shown to a smaller room overlooking the pool, which we accepted. We were then informed by staff there would be a charge of 210 euros which I found completely unacceptable and was told this was the only room available when it was quite clear the hotel was nowhere near capacity. We reluctantly paid the 210 euros and move to the other room some 2 hours after arriving. For a supposedly 5-star hotel the room was very disappointing, there was no robes or slippers which you would expect and I had to return to reception to request them, there was nothing in the complimentary fridge bar and this was the case for the whole week, on a positive note the house keeping was excellent. Breakfast at the buffet restaurant was very nice and dinner by the pool bar was excellent, however it was the same menu every day. The evening offering was not to the standard I expected, limited choice and on occasions cold, I have never been to a 5-star hotel that doesn’t offer a soup with the evening meal, therefor we eat out on several occasions. I also found it strange that for such a large hotel there was only one bar open at a time, and you had to wait a long time on occasions to be served ,I can only put this down to staffing issues .A major issue was that there was no water immediately available you had to wait at the bar or wait for a member of staff to come along to order. I do appreciate this is a new hotel and you can expect teething issues and I hope they get it right because it’s such a beautiful place to stay with some very friendly staff.

Overall it wasn’t the best holiday and not what I expected. The staff although pleasant were not too friendly, it was clear they were doing a job that didn’t seem to be enjoyed. The bathroom drainage was shocking. The water simply had nowhere to go. A danger zone. Nothing explained on arrival. I wouldn’t return………..
