Hotels near Multatuli Museum in Amsterdam

The hotel was perfect for our 3 day stay! Staff are extremely friendly and eager to please. Our room was amazing and had everything you needed. Breakfast was delicious and having the snacks to buy in reception certainly helped out our munchies😂 amazing location, walking distance to most places! But quiet at night so you get a good sleep ina very comfy bed! we would definitely book again and recommend to all our friends and family who visit regularly 🫶🏻 thank you for a great stay! We will be back 🙌🏻

Front door staff are so friendly and welcoming. Place is safe and bunk beds are not too bad to sleep on at all. Shared bathroom was quite clean and the soap and shampoo they offer along with the breakfast and free towels storage etc was just a cherry on top. Also very close to everything, from the centraal station, some museums and experiences. Some good food places bit further down the road too. I'll definitely be back!

Such a great experience, the hotel is located in a perfect distance to the city centre/shops and Amsterdam Centraal train station. All reception staff were lovely and easy to communicate with. The room was more on the smaller side however this is bound to be the case as all buildings in Amsterdam are tall and slim. The room was clean, the bed was large and comfy with clean sheets and comfy pillows. The bathroom was clean, the only negative I can think of is that there’s no separation between the shower and toilet space so the floor may get a little bit wet. Overall I would highly recommend this hotel as a place to stay in Amsterdam

Good location is just ＜5mins walk and is next to Amsterdam central station. Convenient with transport tram to go around museums , shopping areas. Taking canal boat/cruise is just opposite the hotel. Breakfast is nice and staff service is good!

Cool hotel, Laid back and very comfortable. Watch yourself going up and down the stairs if you have had a drink in you. Treacherous! But that is normal in old Amsterdam. I loved the neighborhood. Good place for a party. This hotel has a very pleasant cafe at the front that serves really spectacular rich continental breakfasts and excellent coffee. Friendly staff all around. Would definitely come back again on my next trip to Amsterdam!

Very clean room. Lack of toiletries compare to other similar hotels (no hand body, tooth brush, shower cap). Easy check in/check out. Close to tram stop to downtown. Several supermarket nearby: Lidl and Albert Heijn.

A group of 6 of us used this hotel for a weeks stay in Amsterdam. Reading the reviews I was a bit worried as also working in hotels I know standards and the reviews looked meh. After arriving I was shocked, so clean, very high standard for a cheap hotel. All the rooms was great with fresh lining everyday. Reception staff was the only people I spoke to who are very kind a professional and any issues dealt with quickly and efficiently. Only issues we had was very minor and didn't worry us too much as we came for a relaxing week away, in one room there was no shower door, just a small bit off glass they didn't move so everytime we had a shower the bathroom would be soaked, housekeeping left us extra hand towels to soak up the water which was great. One rooms Air con wouldn't work but on the last day the controls was found behind the TV, maybe a sign saying where it was would be good. One toilet didn't flush but it was on a high up floor so totally understandable. Overall we had a great stay and want to thank all the staff at The Avenue for a great week away, we will be back as soon as we can.

Excellent location right smack in the center of the shopping street. Walking distance to many places. Room is ok and decent for the price you paid for. Basic amenities provided but note that they do not have facial tissue or bedroom slipper provided. The room probably not suitable for friends who are body shy? There is a hole to the bathroom sliding door, so there’s basically no privacy to it. Overall, pretty happy with the stay.

During our three-night stay at this hotel with my family, the staff exhibited genuine kindness and helpfulness, and the overall cleanliness of the hotel was commendable. However, despite these positive aspects, the room was uncomfortably cold. Despite the central heating being set to a maximum of 23 degrees, it hovered around 21 degrees, and sometimes even less. Upon requesting a heater, we were provided with a small one (attached below), but the second room lacked a switcher to plug it in. Typically, when returning to a hotel on a cold day, one hopes to warm up, but unfortunately, that wasn't the case here. Despite this setback, I rate the hotel 4/5 for its cleanliness, value for money, and the kindness of the staff, especially when compared to other options in Amsterdam.

Staff was friendly and the location is unbeatable, but I don’t think I’d recommend this place to anyone unless your only desire is to take things from the “coffeeshops” to your room’s balcony; the rooms are old and dirty, and the bathroom is small and also smelly (like matches?). The floor was dusty and full of dead bugs, and the window didn’t close properly. Also, there is no elevator in the hotel.
