The staff were very welcoming. Unfortunately our room smelt damp. Wallpaper peeling off the walls. Dirty shower curtain. Dirty window frames . Difficult to get to sleep due to a lot of people constantly walking past our room due to its location. Poor quality wardrobe door.cobwebs under sliding door frame to bathroom. Hamper selection box heavily worn. Kettle had old water i side, very old kettle handle worn and filter dirty. This was advertised as a one night stay in a luxury spa hotel. Luxury it certaintly wasnt. The only saving grace was the spa facility was nice and the bar area was nice. Breakfast was also nice. As for the room it was a low standard. Wouldn't recommend this stay.

A lovely looking place but overall a disappointing experience - fortunately we were only stopping one night. We arrived in the evening as planned just before the restaurant closed, only to be told they weren't serving any more, so we ate in the bar - we had several steaks all of which were terrible (complaints were made to the staff at the time). The key card machine was broken so we had to be escorted to our rooms - these things happen. One of the two rooms stank - we later realised the shower's water trap was empty so we'd been getting a good smell of the sewers not a musty room! Whilst the gym and pool were great, having to book a timed slot for such (didn't want to use the Spa) was an inconvenience and an experience I'd rather not have had to worry about. No doubt a lovely place but on this occasion it simply did not live up to its potential.

No key for the room - I had to find a staff member every time I needed access, so the idea of visiting the spa and being locked out for 15 minutes whilst searching the hotel was a no-no. The 'King Size Bed' was in fact two singles pushed together with a very hard ridge on both edges no-one could sleep on. There was no hot water both in the evening and morning, wherever the shower was set. I thought the unmarked shower was temperamental until the temperature varied from cold to lukewarm and back whilst I was rapidly showering, hence the evidence of lack of hot water at the peak time. The £200 rack rate does not include a full breakfast. One can choose from three items - I had one sausage, one piece of bacon and one egg. I was offered tea or coffee, and when I chose the latter I was directed to the end of the queue for the single coffee machine for the whole busy breakfast service. My colleagues who stayed at the Travelodge and Premier Inn were quite literally laughing at this stay which would have been poor and fundamentally failure to deliver a basic hotel service, if it were a local guesthouse - at a 4 star hotel, absolutely shocking.

Very enjoyable stay in a beautiful Manor House hotel. The staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful, Decor in communal areas beautiful and hotel bedroom with balcony modern, clean and comfortable. Spa was a perfect relaxation area, pool clean and modern. Breakfast was plentiful and evening meal in the Thyme Restaurant was delicious. Very relaxed stay and would certainly visit again.

Quiet (even though there was a wedding), attractive property with good parking. Restaurant staff (esp maitre D') initially seemed rather disinterested but saved by upbeat positive and helpful attitude of wine waitress. Bedroom was rather plain but the bed was v.good and v. good bathroom. The £25 extra for 2hrs spa access was steep when only needed a 30 min swim, so didn't bother. Food good and wines excellent. Would go back but would shop around first.

I attended the hotel for my best friends wedding, overall we had a lovely time the staff were brilliant and the service was even better the room was clean bed was comfy but after the wedding being a long day I was exhausted but didn't sleep a wink due to the generater whirring outside my room for hours, to pay £100 for a room and not sleep was a bit of a disappointment however you helped make my best friends wedding day hitch free and beautiful so overall very happy with my experience

Hotel from the outside looks spectacular. The downstairs restaurant and lounge area also looks classy. Then you go to your room and you think you’ve travelled back in time. Rooms are so dated. The paint on the walls was peeling off. Also, no aircon!.

The room and bathroom were good but breakfast was a nightmare. I asked a minute to look at the menu and was left, there was a large party and they seemed to concentrate on them so I left hungry as I am gluten and there where no options visible that I could take with me.
