I had a great 2 nights. Loved the pool, breakfast was special with a great cheese selection. Found the room a little warm and dry as only the fan option is available is winter but filling the humidifier helped. Skyler, the head concierge, was exceptionally helpful and accommodating - thank you for all your assistance. Will definitely be back as it is well situated and right by the beach.

check in procedure took 26 minutes ; no more service at the Lobby Cafe at 23:30 even the Cafe announce service on the TV up to midnight - instead to get a beer the waiter ask us to go opposite the street to a 7/11 shop to buy a beer; checking out - no change in the box it took 15 minutes to get RMB 1.- notes as coins the front desk lady could give to a foreigner: location excellent - food selection good - missing as German "real bread" ;

The hotel is greatly located, with a stunning view over the Olympic Harbour. The service is great and the buffet for breakfast has for everyone a great deal ready and tasty. We booked sea view, which was great enjoying the surroundings like it would be your own backyard. We surely will come back in summer time to enjoy Qingdao and this perfect location with the very friendly management and service.

The bad part is its aging furnishings, not because of old age, but more because of lack of maintenance. Some that I found troubling and unsafe in my room 2509, but were easily fixable (and somehow wasn’t fixed) were: 1) One side of the desk containing tons of electricity wires completely fell off - an obvious fire and electricity hazard; 2) shower head holder was loose - several times the shower head fell and knocked head; 3) closet door could not be closed no mater how I tried, it kept creaking open wide. Doesn’t feel like IHG standard. The absolutely great part is the house keeping. The lady who serviced my room saw I have some medicine laying around in the room, and she left a few extra bottles of water, with a very thoughtful note wishing I feel better soon. She made my day. Thank you! Other things are as expected. Hotel building is old, but still charming. Location is not bad, in front of Yan’er Rd Station on Line 2. Lots of food and a couple of malls within 5 mins walk.
