Great location, close to lello and clerigos and many other attractions and restaurants, and near bus stops (easy access to and from airport or train station). Comfortable beds, very spacious and bright studio apartment. The building is safe and has an elevator. However The safe didn't work. Also you have to ask the reception beforehand to change the towels or clean the apartment during the stay otherwise they won’t. The staff however did meet all our requests when asked and brought whatever we needed.

What a great place. Very comfortable. Yes there are stairs - we were on the top floor but Porto is hilly so you are well trained! We had two nights in a twin room. Comfy beds, very clean and quiet. The only downside for two friends was that there was limited privacy in the bathroom! Not terrible but could challenge some! The staff were a delight with heaps of tips. There is free cake and cookies in the afternoon, port to taste and tea and coffee machines on every floor. The breakfast is incredible- you can pick from so many things and it is all brought to your room on a trolley. The location is also great. A delightful hotel to stay in.

I dreamed to live in this type of room. Ordered earlier in Prague, it didn't work. The hotel (studio apartment) very liked. Recipeshen nearby, on the same street. The administrator is very kind, carried out, showed everything. The family room, I was alone. Upstairs sleep warmer. There's an air conditioner. The welcome portwain is very delicious! In the room everything is available: refrigerator, teapot, pans, stove, safe. I'm not in a suitcase, I was OK, but with a suitcase it will be hard to get up to the room. Hotel in the center, near the metro, supermarkets.

Our stay at this apartment was fantastic! The space was comfortable, clean, and recently renovated, with a beautiful view of the river. It is easy to walk to many local sight seeing locations. Watching the sunset from the balcony was a bonus! Veronica and Miguel were wonderful hosts, even surprising us with a gift of wine. They were incredibly helpful, promptly responding to our questions before and during our stay including making accommodations to have us picked up at the airport . The location was perfect, with great restaurants just a short walk away. Highly recommend for a relaxing and enjoyable stay!

Location: Advantages, not far from St. Benedict Train Station, about 5.6 hundred meters. The disadvantage is that it's all up the mountain, and dragging luggage is like zipping. Service: I can't say enough good about it. He helped us book tickets to Lello Bookstore and taxis. He also enthusiastically introduced us to various attractions, how to get there by bus and the approximate distance and time. The room is cleaned every 2 days and is very clean. There is a kitchen and various utensils and pots, which finally satisfies the Chinese stomach. The breakfast is boxed and cannot be finished at all. Surrounding environment: Downhill is Battle Square, uphill is Freedom Square, and there are countless supermarkets, shopping malls, and restaurants within 100 meters. Most of the attractions are within an hour's walk (all are mountain roads). The only drawback is that the bathroom has a bit of a smell. I guess this is a common problem in old apartments.

I stayed at The Gate in Porto for two nights. It's in a great location, the staff is friendly and helpful and the facility is sparkling clean and comfortable. I even had a little Juliet balcony to enjoy a glass of wine before heading out for dinner. It's close to the train station and easy to hail cabs and just walk around and explore.

This is the best hotel I ever met for this Portugual and Spain tour. The location is best, can walk to each famous tourism site within 20 minutes in the downtown center, including the Sao Bento Train station, and 5 minutes＇ walk to Douro river . The ladies for check-in and check-out are both very nice and responsible, be helpful for each of our questions. The apartment＇s equipments are sufficient and of good quality, can meet to our needs of cooking by ourselves, especially it has kettle for hotting water for drink, which is the only hotel we met in P&S. Great! And also they have prepared plenty of fruits(apple, orange, banana,pear,ect.) and yougart,snacks,etc. For breakfast, including milk, bread, butter, cheese,egg, hams, very enough for us. Which is more intersting is that, there is a cloth bag, which painting with typical Portugal cock, it is just with this bag, we hang it to the doornob of our apartment at night, and next morning, when you pick it back, you will find very fresh and delicious bread in it. Bravo! Like a Xmas gift! And the hygienism of the room are also very good, All of above make us feel at home,esp at this special season. Stronly recommend this hotel. This lovely guesthouse is in a perfect location in Porto right near the river and handy to lots of cafes and restaurants. The staff are what makes this place. Luis, Philip, Ogle and Luisa. They are all wonderful, but we mostly spent our breakfasts with Luis and it was always lovely chatting to him. We enjoyed the beautifully prepared daily breakfast - the nicest fruit platter ever each day and you could also order eggs the day before and the omelettes were delicious too! I miss seeing Luis' cheery face at breakfast now we are home - no fruit platter, juice, eggs waiting for us when we get out of bed! Porto is a lovely city. The people are genuinely nice. Tips for eating - the restaurants on the river charge about twice the price than the ones up the hill or across the river in Gaia, naturally because you have a very nice view. If you walkup the hill to R Das Floras there are some nice restaurants up there, and in that general vicinity. They have some nice cocktails in Porto - one using Port and Tonic and one using Limoncello and Tonic. Nice with ice and fresh slice or orange or lemon. We would definitely stay at this property again. Highly recommend.

Well located hostel at Sao Bento train station, everything within walking distance. A bit overrated in my opinion, staff are knowledgeable but a bit 'corporate robotic' I prefer the more personal touch. Its overpriced for what's on offer, very basic breakfast, looks as if meats, cheeses have been purchased from one of the budget supermarkets. Its fine but despite all the hype, nothing special.
