Nevis Bank Inn

When I got to the hotel, I was asked to pay a little bit more than what was advised by trip.com, but every penny was worth it! Location is great, staff are very friendly and welcoming, the room was absolutely fantastic, and the full Scottish breakfast was generous and tasty. The only disappointment was I couldn't get a bath because the bathtub obturating plug didn't work properly. However, the overall experience was good. Thank you!

We stayed here for one night as part of our Scottish road trip for my wife's birthday and what a great place this is. On arrival we were greeted by the friendly hosts who were so helpful and had loads of great local knowledge. Also great to note all Covid precautions were being followed straight from the off in terms of masks/distancing. We were in the Great Glen suite and what an excellent room this is. Large, modern and very well appointed, it has all the facilities you need as well as personal touches like chocolates by the bedside and a Birthday gift for my wife! Always a really nice touch. The high point of the room is the spacious balcony complete with chairs and table where you can sit out and take in the spectacular views of the mountains. We were lucky to enjoy some mild weather so took full advantage of this. Breakfast the next morning was included. This was a continental option including loads of tasty local produce including eggs laid by their own hens and some delicious ham and cheese. Top marks on an excellent breakfast it really set us up well for the day ahead! JJ the host took time to chat to us over breakfast and we were surprised to hear the business is ten years old (I think?) as everything looks absolutely brand new and like it just opened yesterday. Put all of this together with the bargain price we enjoyed for a mid-week stay and I really can't recommend this place enough. If you're thinking of staying get it booked now, and thanks again to the hosts for providing such a great experience for my Wife's birthday trip!

This is the most expensive one I have ever lived in the UK but the smallest one. The price is too low and the check-in procedures are the most cumbersome. But the hotel is very beautiful, the location is good, the aunt who serves is very warm, the breakfast room is amazing, and the breakfast quality is very good.

The service is great! ! We drove all the way from the Lake District. When we arrived, it was more than 8 pm. We missed the latest check-in time. The hotel staff kept contacting us through Trip.com before get off work, but because there was no signal on the road, we didn't know. After arriving, we saw no one at the front desk. We looked around and tried to call the hotel staff. The other party answered immediately and told us that the room number that had been arranged was not locked and the key was on the tabletop of the room. And there is a handwritten message placed in the conspicuous position of the hotel porch. Very touched! We immediately calmed down, the room was clean and tidy, the bathroom was particularly spacious, and there were welcome biscuits on the table. Very quiet at night, good sound insulation, no movement in other rooms. Breakfast is facing the lake, refreshing. The hotel staff also specially greeted us about our stay and apologized for the inconvenience last night. This is great!

Bedroom was very 70s with dark, worn pine furniture , orange carpets, dark tuquoise walls & grey curtains so looked very dated.  Lamp shades  were mismatched, and Shabby and walls were  damaged and scuffed. Bathroom had no hand soap but was clean. Areas on stairs with ornaments were thick of dust.  The stair carpet changed on the 2nd floor and was very worn on the edges. Dinner was from a set menu for the deal we had booked.  Steak pie arrived with 3 bayleaves still in with the meat.  Veg was green beans, carrots & swede but the latter was inedible as it was so hard. Partner had chips which were frozen, not fresh and we noticed a few other diners had left theirs. I had mash but had to leave that as it was horrible instant potato. Dessert of sticky toffee pudding was very dry and only saved by the quantity of sauce provided with  the sponge. We weren't asked at any point if we had enjoyed our meal & service was very slow at 7pm although staff seemed friendly enough. Breakfast was limited choice. Full Scottish,  cereal, toast, over-cooked croissant, apples, oranges & yoghurt that had been stood on the counter top 7.30am to 9.30am. Definitely not worthy of another visit as it reminded us of old Blackpool b&bs.
