The photo shows the exterior wall of IBIS. In fact, it has already changed hands. It's a bit missing. Next to the road downstairs, free parking before 8 o'clock.

The hotel service is very good, the equipment is very new, and it feels safer than the other hotels in this time. The room is large, comfortable, and the location is good. It's not too far away if you drive.
PLAZA Hotel Gelsenkirchen

The former Maritim Hotel was well suited as a starting point for the annual Vivawest marathon, as you could get to foot to start from there. It had its own charm of 80-er years, even though the inventory had come into the years. In May 2022, we booked nights for the Vivawest Marathon. To our disappointment we had to find that under the new brand Plaza everything was reduced to the absolute minimum: in the rooms only the naked inventory was still; on the balcony there was an old, roasting table without chairs. Renoved was absolutely nothing. The staff at reception and early backroom were all visiblely unmotivated and unfriendly. Plaza offered an electronic check-in service 24 hours before arrival, which was quite complicated and long (pass number, copy of the light page of passport and card). Even though confirmed, nothing was taken of it at check-in. There were little guests at the hotel, despite Vivawest Marathon. The breakfast buffet consists of foods that all seemed to be purchased together from a cheap supermarket.
