Indeed, it's a great angle of the Big Wild Goose Pagoda The popular spot seen online, a bit hard to find. I always thought that the ruins of the Daci'en Temple were also in the Big Wild Goose Pagoda scenic area, but it turns out that you have to exit from the south gate. After exiting, go to the left, and that open space is the ruins of the Daci'en Temple. The photo spot marked on the map is the Tathagata Buddha. Follow the blue arrow in the third picture, bypass a hotel, see an inconspicuous entrance, look inside and you can see the pillar in the fourth picture, the distance is very close, walk the red line in the third picture and you will arrive.

Took advantage of the mid to late April to go to the ancient capital of thirteen dynasties, Xi'an, with my younger brother. Here's a share of our four-day three-night itinerary, accommodation, and feelings in Xi'an. 🚂First is transportation, we arrived at Xi'an station by train. Subway and taxi within Xi'an city are very convenient and affordable. Except for the Terracotta Warriors where you can join a tour group and Huashan which requires a train ride, other scenic spots can be easily reached by taxi. 🏠For accommodation, we stayed in a homestay in a small alley near Hui Min Street, where there are many homestays! It's nice to stroll around, with plenty of food options, and not too far from the scenic spots and Xi'an station. ✨Itinerary Day1️⃣: Arrive at Xi'an station at eight o'clock ➡️ Drop off luggage and have breakfast at Hui Min Street ➡️ Bell Tower and Drum Tower ➡️ Join a tour group to the Terracotta Warriors ➡️ Stroll through Hui Min Street again Day2️⃣: Xi'an City Wall (didn't wake up🙂‍↕️➡️ Dress up in Hanfu ➡️ Big Wild Goose Pagoda ➡️ Datang Everbright City, etc. Day3️⃣: One-day tour of Huashan (see main page for details) Day4️⃣: Stroll through Hui Min Street and head to Xi'an station in the afternoon 💭Some minor complaints The lamb stew and roujiamo in Hui Min Street are so expensive!! We found a round-trip tour group near the Drum Tower for 30, with a guide who told us some unofficial histories (?), it saves on transportation but personally, I think it's a bit of a rip-off, the Terracotta Warriors are just so-so, there's a delicious Liangpi shop at the entrance! (Those homestay performances, I watched recordings on Bilibili hh. The Big Wild Goose Pagoda is full of girls taking photos, there's a fountain show that's so boring and average, Datang Everbright City is also super crowded. Huashan is great except for being expensive and tiring. In conclusion, I don't know if it's the problem with the travel guide or just too many people (but it wasn't a weekend or holiday), the experience in Xi'an was average, and I'm not used to the food (a light Guangdong stomach), you can just eat some authentic local specialties, don't go for any internet-famous foods (bought a 38 yuan crab roe bun at one shop, it was a pre-made dish, a huge rip-off and tasted awful!! Personally, I think the experience in Luoyang was better (whispering). Oh! The milk rice wine or whatever it's called in Hui Min Street is delicious! (forgot what it's called)

I've been to the Big Wild Goose Pagoda twice, the first time was just to check in and watch the uninteresting musical fountain. This time I brought my elders to 'check in' for the first time, and we watched the uninteresting fountain again. Actually, I wanted to go inside the temple, but the timing wasn't right. You can go to the Big Wild Goose Pagoda in the afternoon, then spend over an hour getting dressed up and styled, and when the lights come on at night, you can head to Datang Everbright City. The musical fountain at seven o'clock is in the North Square, after watching the fountain head to the South Square, and on the way from north to south, you'll see the glowing poetry. There's a spot in the South Square where you can take photos of the glowing Xuanzang statue and the Big Wild Goose Pagoda together, or you can skip the fountain and go directly to the South Square to find a spot, because there will be a lot of people taking photos after the lights are on. There are signs all the way, just follow them, cross the road from the South Square, and you'll arrive at Datang Everbright City - a well-made themed pedestrian street, with a main stage on the main road and food and fun on both sides. The distance between stages and the scheduling of showtimes are very reasonable. At a normal walking pace, you can finish watching one show and move on, and by the time you get there, you can wait for the next show to start. It's unlikely to see all the shows, but you can catch a part of them. The show schedule is available on the official WeChat account, but I think it's better to go with the flow. There are too many people, and if you're not keen on a particular show, such as the 'Prosperous Tang Mystery Box' (which is actually close to the entrance, just a few steps away), you don't have to stick to the schedule to find a spot, just watch as you go. Each show lasts about five to ten minutes. Since I brought three elders over 65 years old, they were quite tired by 8:30 pm, and it would take until 10:30 pm to see all the shows. Also, on the first day we arrived, a taxi driver reminded us to leave Datang Everbright City early, otherwise it would be very difficult to get a taxi, so we left at 8:30 pm. I watched about five shows, 'The Reign of Zhenguan' was not bad, and 'The Battle of the Flower Floats' was also good. As for my mom, my aunt, and my great aunt, it seems they didn't watch any, just rested by the roadside . There were indeed too many people. Datang Everbright City is still worth visiting, next time I'll dress up, the immersive experience is good~
