Rasa Ria Reserve by Shangri-La

Shangri-la Rasa Ria Nature Reserve located in Douman, 30 kilometers northeast of Kota Kinabalu, close to the Douman Shangri-La Hotel. This is a nature reserve backed by mountains and seas. The hotel has special activities to visit the reserve on foot. The nearby ecology is very good. You can see the huge dragonfly about 1 meter.

Walk here at night under the guidance of a guide. Dino is a man of few words but a perfect guide. He is observant and knowledgeable, pointing out when there are interesting animals or insects. Close to a large resort there are a surprising number of creatures (seeing a panda, whiptail and unknown eyes shining in a tree). Children love the ease of accessibility (no long trek into the jungle). Bring a spray (you need to take the AV out of the resort - there are only sprays that do not contain AV). I didn't notice sand flies in the hotel, but there were not many mosquitoes :) We took a guided tour of the forest crown, a great experience with the magnificent scenery. The rope bridge was fun and the guide was very knowledgeable, except for a few venomous snakes, We didn't see much wildlife on our trip, but it was pleasant nonetheless, with strong shoes and lots of water, as you'll definitely need them, as well as repellent.

Just came back from this resort & it's too bad my heart still with them! Loved the hotel room, the beach, their facilities & many more. Definitely I will come back soon!
