Doraemon was my favourite television show when I was younger. I have read many of the mangas, scrambled to watch the series when it was played on tv program channel 8 in Singapore every weekend and watched many of its movies when they were released. Therefore, when this exhibition was announced I immediately bought tickets and it did not disappoint. The exhibition showcased the creative writing and creation process of the many funny, loving and sad stories/movies that that led the the many famous Doraemon mangas, series and movies. It also showcased the many loved and famous characters like nobita, shizuka, gian and suneo as well as the iconic locations in the series such as Nobia and Doraemon's House and room, and the classroom of the school where the kids studied. At one part of the exhibition, you can even purchase Doraemon's favourite food: Dorayaki!!!! It was super heavenly and delicious. If you love Doraemon as much as I do, when you were a child and still do, do head down to National museum of Singapore to relive your memories again. Visit to the National Museum turned out to be so enriching as the latest exhibition took us back to the past with notable & memorable memories of the gadgets, sights & sounds used in the past era. Am so glad to be part of the generation that experienced some of the heydays prior to the millennial change. Great experience for the young & old, ends on 31 Oct 2022. Many chances for photo-taking and interactive mini games to blast yourself to the past and be fully immersed on how life was like back then. The National Museum of Singapore is the oldest museum in Singapore. Its history dates back to 1849, making it one of the 'veterans' among many venues, and it is also the largest museum in Singapore. The main building of the museum is a neoclassical structure built in 1887, which is quite suitable for photography in itself. The museum has four floors, three above ground and one below. The basement is for temporary special exhibitions, which require an additional fee to visit. ✅ The main gallery on the first floor is the Singapore History and Culture Exhibition, which is also the starting point for visiting the museum. It introduces the history and development of the land of Singapore. ✅ The 'Singapore Life: A Century's Retrospective' living gallery presents the past and present of Singapore through engaging narratives. The second floor of the gallery also features ✅ traditional cuisine ✅ fashion trends ✅ photography techniques ✅ film and theater, showcasing the life of Singaporeans in the 20th century. The museum houses over 1700 historical art collections, presenting the life of Singapore in different historical periods. The Singapore National Museum has a rich historical background. The museum's gallery uses the latest cutting-edge display technology, redefining the traditional museum experience. From the Lion City 700 years ago, the British colony in the 19th century, the Syonan Island during the World War II to the prosperous and stable Singapore today, the development and changes have left some traces in their own unique way as time goes by, allowing people to have a glimpse. The most experiential is the Animal and Plant Image Museum, a super long image gallery. The key is that you can smell the fragrance of flowers and hear the sound of raindrops all the way, as if you are in the animal world, the immersive feeling is great. At the end is a super large 360° cinema, where you can lie down and look up at the starry sky, birds and flowers, very comfortable. Every time you reach a corner, these trees will grow, super cool. The first floor is the Singapore History Exhibition Hall, and the second floor is the must-see themed exhibition hall. There are five smaller themed exhibition halls, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in the colonial period, war period, development period and return period of the 70s in Singapore. Once, the collections of the Singapore National Museum were mainly focused on natural history. From the 1960s, the museum shifted its collection focus from natural science to national construction. This is the most important historical gallery, it's very large and contains content about Singapore. If you're short on time, just visiting this one is enough; Fourth, 2nd floor: Glass Rotunda - The Story of the Forest. This is an animal and plant image exhibition, with no text, experienced through immersive LED screens; it's a cylindrical corridor leading from the 2nd to the 1st floor, and you'll reach the 1st floor right after viewing it; Fifth, -1 floor: is about a public welfare exhibition on plastics, with many scenes for you to experience the presence of plastic in life and feel its harm, while also showing that modern science can now extract components from plants to replace plastics; 3rd floor: there are no exhibitions, you can go directly out the back door to Fort Canning Park. 【Recommended Surrounding Route】 This is a very smooth route, and all the essential photo spots can be reached: Praise Square ➡️ National Museum of Singapore ➡️ Fort Canning Park Tree Hole ➡️ Old Hill Street Police Station ➡️ Clarke Quay ➡️ Merlion.
