The weather in the Wumeng Prairie is unpredictable. When I went there, the sky was overcast. I played for an afternoon and the sun came out for ten minutes, but it was really beautiful. The 15 yuan ticket is too worth it! Location|Guizhou Province, Liupanshui City, Wumeng Prairie. Transportation|You can take a bullet train to Liupanshui City, or to Panzhou City. But it is recommended to drive by yourself. It takes 1.5 hours from Liupanshui to the scenic area, and 1 hour from Panzhou City to the scenic area. The scenic area is very large, there is no shuttle bus, you need to drive by yourself. If you don't drive, you may need to rent a car or charter a car. It takes 2 days to walk. Consumption|The original price of the ticket is 30 yuan. There are barbecue and snacks in the scenic area, and the price is not outrageous; you can skip the horse farm in the scenic area, the price is a bit expensive, you will encounter many locals with horses on the road, you can bargain to 30 yuan, there are many ponies, very cute, you can take pictures with them. Weather|The weather on the grassland changes greatly, the ultraviolet rays are strong, but the temperature is not high, around 19 degrees, the wind is particularly strong, the kind that can blow your head, you need to do a good job of sun protection, and you also need to bring a coat when you go in summer. Accommodation|After buying a ticket to enter the scenic area, you can play for a few days. There are food and accommodation inside. The hotel prices in the scenic area are a bit expensive. There are Mongolian yurts and starry campsites. You can also rent tents for camping. There are many hotels in Wumeng Town outside the scenic area, most of which are hotels opened by rural self-built houses. The environment is general. You can choose to stay in Liupanshui or Panzhou City. We stayed in Liupanshui, which is very cool, more than twenty degrees, Jiaotong South Road and Yanhe Street are very lively at night, there are many places to eat, it is recommended to avoid Lei sauce roast meat. Tour route|Buy tickets at Gate 1 to enter the scenic area - Changhaizi - Baicao Lawn - Guan Buddha Platform - Exit the scenic area from Gate 2. There are many plank roads in the scenic area, and each plank road can see different scenery, but it is tiring to walk, you can choose to walk some selectively. There are many beautiful places along the way, you can stop and take pictures at any time. Tour time|The scenic area is very large, if you want to play thoroughly, it is estimated that it will take two days. I arrived at the top of the mountain early in the morning before dawn! It was to see the sunrise here! But the pervasive fog told us that we wouldn't be able to see the sunrise today... Despite their small stature, the azaleas exhibit various postures—some standing tall, as if saluting the sun, while others bow or huddle together as if sharing secrets. The Wumeng Prairie offers a unique and charming floral display, inviting every visitor to marvel at its beauty. Here, amidst the grandeur of the prairie, you can witness the delicate and enchanting allure of the plateau dwarf azaleas, experiencing nature's magic and the rejuvenating spirit of spring in a serene and picturesque setting away from the hustle and bustle.

Originally, I wanted to see the late blooming azaleas in Wumeng, but who knew the flowers would wither so quickly this year? There were no late blooms left, only a few clusters remaining in the deep mountain gullies. In Wumeng, during neither the lush grass nor the abundant water season, the grass facing the sun is wheat-yellow (the side away from the sun can still be green), and the water in the Heavenly Pool is only half full. It's unlikely to produce the popular photos seen online. It's worth mentioning that this season also has winds that can rival the devilish gales of the deserts in the Northwest, which nearly flipped me over several times. Little advice: 🟢 When there is no sunshine on the mountain, it's a bit cold, and you need to wear cotton clothes, the kind that you would wear in cold weather. No wonder everyone comes here in summer to escape the heat; the name of Liupanshui as a 'cool city' is indeed well-deserved. 🟢 You must drive yourself. After entering the main gate, you can drive and take photos as you please, emphasizing freedom without constraints. Just a bit of social morality to protect the environment and animals is enough. The scenic area signs will tell you not to ride private horses, but the locals are actually very honest and enthusiastic. For ten or twenty yuan, you can ride a pony once, without any deception. They allow you to lead and take photos at will, which I personally think is very nice. 🟢 The best way to handle the strong winds is to take continuous shots for the atmosphere, and then pick a few photos afterwards to make a naturally beautiful set. For sunrise/sunset, you must climb to the mountaintop viewing platform. Standing high, you see far, and any shot you take looks good.

This place is located in China's 'Cool Capital'—Liupanshui. The Ulan Buh Grassland is the highest and largest plateau grassland in the southwest region, with the highest altitude reaching 2,857 meters, an average annual temperature of 11.1°C, and boasts tens of thousands of acres of alpine rhododendron forests, beautiful high mountain lakes, and the world's rare natural wonder of Buddha's light.
