    Historical Temple

    I was attracted by the Cherry Blossom next to this temple. Also got ginkgo trees , especially the husband and wife gingko tress’s are standing side by side.

    国道５号線に面して

    江戸時代の１８５７年に創建された曹洞宗の寺院です。ここの本堂は小樽で最古の本堂です。１８７６年に建てられた木造1階建の建物です。創設当時の旧態がほぼ現存しており、歴史的建造物にも指定されています。

    小樽市最古の本堂

    国道５号線沿いにあり、札幌から向うと小樽市街に入る手前にあります。 1857年創建の曹洞宗のお寺で、小樽市最古の本堂は小樽市の歴史的建造物に指定されていますが、外見はあまり歴史は感じません。 山門から境内に入ると、鐘楼、金比羅殿のほか、多くの観音菩薩や地蔵菩薩が並んでいました。 本堂内に巨大木魚があるそうですが、本堂にカギがかかっていて拝観できなかった。

    説明板によると、約160年前の江戸時代に函館高龍寺の18世和尚により創建され、創設当時のままの市内最古の寺院本堂がある寺とのこと。 創建地は近くの信香（のぶか）ですが、若松を経て国道5号線カーブ沿いの現在地、真栄（まさかえ）に移転。 本堂左手には、明治期に創建された凝った木彫の金比羅殿と鐘楼があり、これは小樽市内に公会堂や能楽堂など、多くの建築物を残している加藤忠五郎の作品です。 小樽にも江...
