Run along the Hama Kaido Road, there is a forest covered with trees 々. That is Ozu Shrine. The main shrine, which was destroyed by the fire of the Onin Rebellion, was rebuilt by Takayori Rokkaku, the Omi Shugo (provincial Constable of Omi province), although the foundation is unknown. However, it was destroyed by fire again due to the disturbance of eisho, and in the Sengoku period (period of Warring States), it was rebuilt after 18 years by jitsukan jitsufusa, a priest of the enryaku Ji sanmon school, and it is the present main hall. From the commonly known "Hama Kaido", you can enter a fairly wide precinct. A modest hall of worship appears in the overgrown trees 々. It seems that "Long Sword Dance" is being held at the festival in May.
It is said that the ancient gozoku Ozu clan was enshrined. Since ancient times, Takauji Ashikaga has been revered by the imperial family and the martial arts gates, and it is said that Takauji Ashikaga strictly prohibited the intrusion of soldiers and horses into the sacred precincts during the Northern and Southern Dynasties War. The main shrine is an important cultural property, built in the late Muromachi period, around 1521-1527 (around Oei), Sanmasha style, Mukai Ichima, and cypress bark.
It is located about 5 km northwest of Moriyama Station. The approach is wide and is a historic shrine once called Ozu Omiya. I was able to appreciate it slowly in a quiet place.
