Wawushan Mountain Area

Wawu Mountain is about 40 kilometers away from Liyang and borders Jurong. The degree of tourism development is not high, so most of the original features of the forest are preserved. There is also a treasure temple on the top of the mountain, which attracts some tourists who like to explore the seclusion. It is convenient, so the main tourists who come here are self-driving tourists. Although Liyang and Jurong have been vying for this feng shui treasure land, it does not affect tourists' interest in visiting Wawu Mountain. You can start from Liyang and drive along G104 for about 40 kilometers; or drive along S340 from Maoshan Scenic Area in Jurong for about 30 kilometers to Lita Village at the foot of the mountain, facing Lita Lake, and then walk up the mountain. Of course, you can also drive directly along the winding mountain road to Baozang Temple, which is about 400 meters above sea level. According to historical records, Wawu Mountain has a close relationship with Jiuhua Mountain in Anhui in the history of religion, so it is called Xiao Jiuhua. In the fifth year of Tang Tianbao (746 AD), monk Daoming, the second disciple of Jiuhua Mountain Jindizang, went to Wawu Mountain to build Baozang Temple. At that time, there were nearly 100 monks in the temple. Until 1937, the temple was looted and destroyed. The present temple has been built by devotees and pilgrims with huge sums of money since 1994. In addition, there are picking, barbecue, farmhouse and other projects around Lita Village at the foot of the mountain, which can be arranged with mountain tour activities for a day trip.
