There is a pine tree that stretches about 30 meters near the five-storied pagoda and extends the trunk in the horizontal direction. A long time ago, the priest of Itsukushima Shrine named the long pine tree shape side by side like a dragon's cheek. I was purely surprised that I didn't know that I could stretch like this.
When you come down from the five-storied pagoda or Senjokaku, you can see the pine trees that stretch sideways. It is named Ryuko no Matsu, but I often see pine trees stretch sideways. I'm not very impressed.
There was a description on the map I got from the tourist information at Miyajima Port, so I thought I would include this as well. I imagined a larger pine branch, but it was smaller than I imagined. Still, I don't usually see it. It was like seeing a big bonsai.
This pine tree is planted along the downhill from the five-storied pagoda, and as the name suggests, you can enjoy walking while walking in the beautifully pruned horizontally like a dragon beard. I was purely impressed that the sight of such a pine tree being planted properly was wonderful.
Horizontal growing pine
There is a tea house just beside the 5-storey pagoda. You see a long horizontal growing branch of a pine tree. Very unique and different.
