Lingyin Temple, an ancient Buddhist temple in China, also known as Yunlin Temple, is located in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, backed by Beigao Peak and facing Feilai Peak. It was founded in the first year of the Xianhe era of the Eastern Jin Dynasty (326 AD), and the founding patriarch of Lingyin Temple was the Western Indian monk Huili. During the Southern Dynasties, Emperor Wu of the Liang Dynasty granted land and expanded the temple. During the Five Dynasties, King Qian Lou of Wuyue commanded the invitation of Master Yongming Yanshou to revive and expand the temple, and bestowed the name Lingyin Xin Temple. In the Jiading era of Emperor Ningzong of the Song Dynasty, Lingyin Temple was acclaimed as one of the 'Five Mountains' of Chan Buddhism in the south of the Yangtze River. During the Shunzhi era of the Qing Dynasty, the Chan Buddhism master Ju De lived in Lingyin and raised funds for reconstruction. Regarding the arrival of Lingjiu Mountain, Master Ju De, a patriarch of Lingyin Temple from the late Ming to early Qing dynasty, once said: The World-Honored One preached for 49 years, discussed the scriptures in more than 330 meetings, and at the end, in the assembly at Vulture Peak, in front of a million followers, he entrusted the Flower Sermon to Venerable Kashyapa, who smiled in transmission, and the great Dharma came eastward, thus this mountain had come to the land of Zhen Dan in anticipation. Thus, the arrival of Feilai Peak is indeed not without reason. This is the Western Paradise, and the Western Paradise is here. Perhaps this is the origin of the phrase 'a stone's throw to the Western Paradise'. It is said that after Master Huili discovered Feilai Peak, he stayed and often practiced at Yan Zuo Rock (Li Gong Rock), and soon after, Master Huili built 5 temples along the banks of Wulin Water near Feilai Peak. One of them was named Lingyin, indicating that there were celestial beings living in seclusion here. According to records, after the construction of the 5 temples, Master Huili retreated into the deep mountains and never left Wulin for the rest of his life.

I got up at 5:30 am, freshened up a bit, and left at 6:00 am to take a taxi to the Lingyin Temple ticket office. I arrived around 6:20 (🚗 the hotel is near in77), the journey was smooth and the scenery along the way was super beautiful😍~ I entered at the Feilai Peak checkpoint at 6:30 am (check tickets at the place in picture 1, don't line up in the wrong queue, we waited for a long time at the Feilai Peak ticket office🤣, and wasted 10 minutes for nothing, scanning the code to buy a ticket🎫 for 45 yuan). There weren't many people in line, and I got in within a minute or two. Once inside, you can first admire the stone carvings🧐. Following the crowd, I reached Lingyin Temple, scanned the code to buy a ticket for 30 yuan, waited in line for about ten minutes, and the temple opened at 7:00 am with not many people, so I entered quickly. After finishing the tour at 8:00 am, I went back to the Shipofang Garden on the right side of the Heavenly King Hall to eat vegetarian noodles, which tasted pretty good (Shipofang Garden opens at 8:00 am and starts taking orders at 8:30 am)👍. After eating the noodles, it was not yet 9:00 am, and the place was already getting crowded😱. Just a short walk from Lingyin Temple, I arrived at Yongfu Temple. Yongfu Temple has the most bracelet styles among these temples, and the prices are relatively cheaper, plus you can try them on😄. Walking and browsing around Yongfu Temple, the scenery was very beautiful🤩, but because I was having too much fun, I decided to continue climbing up (it turns out that it's too tiring to climb to the God of Wealth Temple when the weather is hot😅). It was almost 12:00 pm by the time I got to the God of Wealth Temple, and then I took the cable car down (there were quite a few people waiting for the cable car, but it was pretty fast, about half an hour🚠). So, you can take the cable car to the God of Wealth Temple after visiting Lingyin Temple, and then walk down to visit Taoguang Temple and Yongfu Temple. After coming down from the cable car, I returned to the vicinity of Lingyin Temple and took the sightseeing bus (10 yuan) directly to Faxi Temple. I bought mooncakes at Faxi Temple, and they tasted quite good😋. After leaving Faxi Temple, I went to the roadside and took bus 1314 directly to the West Lake Su Causeway stop, then rode a bicycle along the West Lake, which felt amazing👏! (The road was very congested, taxis were expensive, and it was too hard to walk, so it was better to take the bus🚌).
