Weeping cherry blossoms
Original Text
It is near Hachioji Cemetery. There is a magnificent cherry blossom in front of the main hall. It was in full bloom in late March. There is a large parking lot and toilet in the precincts.
The main hall is not very large and although it was not built at the time of its founding, there is a rare thing called the four-legged gate. There are also monuments and celebrity tombs, so it is a recommended temple for those who like history.
Temple related to matsuhime, the daughter of Shingen Takeda
Original Text
I stopped by when I went to Mt. Takao. It seems to be a temple related to Shingen Takeda's daughter Matsuhime, and unfortunately the building was burnt and rebuilt, so it is not old, but it still has a quiet appearance surrounded by greenery. I was able to visit quietly.
When Katsuyori Takeda committed suicide, Shingen Takeda's daughter Matsuhime escaped and hid herself, and then shaved here and called himself Shinshoni to mourn the Takeda clan. The main hall has been rebuilt, so I don't feel the depth of history, but the calm atmosphere surrounded by greenery reminded me of a sad story.
A temple of the Soto sect in Shimoonkata Town. When Katsuyori Takeda lost the battle, Shingen Takeda's daughter, Matsuhime (Shinmatsuni), became a priest at this temple. It is also famous for weeping cherry blossoms.
