I first stayed in Plat as a 10 year old, 40 years ago. We came to stay in Villa Samba as part of my 50th birthday travelling celebrations this year. I wanted to return to Croatia, which was Yugoslavia on my first visit, as I remember the friendliness of the people and the good food. We couldn't have wished for more from a location or accomodation. Anna and Nikola are such friendly owners and offered great advice on things to do in the area. They take real pride in their accomodation block. (And strangely I found out that Nikola may have been playing traditional music on my first visit in the now overgrown ruin of the Hotel Plat down on Plat beach). Reasons to come here: 1. Plat is close to the airport but you don't hear the planes. 2. The apartment we stayed in was immaculate with breathtaking views. 3. There is a bus route which goes right past the apartments just up on the main road. 4. Dubrovnik is just 15 mins away on the bus and worth a couple of trips to explore the beautiful town and don't forget a trip to Lokkrum island on a boat from Dubrovnik harbour. 5. The stunning harbour town of Cavtat is 15 mins in the opposite direction and worth a day spent there. 6. The traditional village of Cilipi is just past the airport and worth visiting on a Sunday morning to watch the performanace of the traditional dances in traditional costume. 7. We planned to visit Montenegro and Mostar, neither of which did we do, due to illness, but both trips are easily doable from this location. 8. Visit the river Gruda and spend a peaceful day walking the river, through the shadey woodland with perhaps a spot of lunch at Konoba Vinica Monkovic or Konavoski Dvori Eco Green Restuaurant. We ate at the latter and had a very tasty meal, not the biggest portion ever and a bit pricey but it was a beautiful setting and very good food. We hired a car, which we booked in the UK before we travelled, collected it at the airport and used it every day except when visiting Dubrovnik-it was easier to go in on the bus. I would not hesitate to recommend these apartments. We hope to visit again someday. Anna and Nikola, ”Hvala puno”....thanks for a great stay!

Would love to give this hotel 4 or even a 5 star but by the time my week stay was up it fell down to 3. The hotel is dated yet clean spacious and very nice for a 3 star hotel. its location was spot on with amazing views from our family room terrace. But after some time there i realised it was ran/owned by a lazy company feeding a very small budget in to it. The biggest flaws my room aircon worked for 2 out of 7 days but strongly only seamed to go in to error mode at midnight as if they were switching it off to save money so some uncomfortable nights sleep given it was 27 degrees of a night. There are ALLOT of steps don't underestimate the repeated steps comments in reviews. if you have disability's you wont stand a chance however if you have some difficulty's like myself being visually impaired a hand rail wouldn't go amiss. I had to use my partner to help me up and down every time because there are ZERO handrails anywhere and very low night-time lighting and there is just No excuse for this. The hotel breakfast area is the worst. That building needs knocked down and a new one built its just a old stuffy room full of grumpy staff with floral dining sets even my own grandmother had better taste than that for decor. Theirs an old bloke who could well be the manager who will give you a lecture on eating what they have if you ask for something. i asked for marmalade. orange jam. He monad we have non I'm not in the UK now i eat what we sell in Croatia. i then spent the whole week enjoying said orange jam because they DO have it he just doesn't even know what they serve. So this is very poor training and management. The cook breakfast i tried once.... enough said. BUT the BIGGEST disappointment is Entertainment. The bistro was basic food was ok, great staff though just need some fans outside. But for gods sake there's no need to be cruel and unusual with that keyboard player sinning songs from 1940s or whatever era while I'm trying to eat. They have this Amazing pool and bar area right in sunset view just SCREAMING for events or some form of evening entertainment. its a thriving business opportunity just going amiss. This whole hotel is great overall. and would defiantly go again but it has so much potential to be So much more with a little more effort from the company that runs it.
