Photos of Xidong Bridge

Xidong Bridge is located in Sixi Town, named after it spans the Dongxi River in the town. The bridge was built in the fourth year of Longqing in Ming Dynasty (1570), re-formed in the tenth year of Qianlong in Qing Dynasty (1745), and rebuilt in the seventh year of Daoguang. The whole bridge is 41.7 meters long, 4.86 meters wide, and 10.35 meters high. The top of the bridge building is shaped like "Clawed Fish Spitting Water", and the bottom of the building is shaped like "Tang Monk's Buddhist scriptures" and many crafts such as plum, orchid, bamboo, chrysanthemum, etc. The shape is lifelike. The bridge head is flying, and there is a tendency to swallow clouds. Under the eaves of the bridge deck, there are three caisson wells with exquisite and simple construction technology, which makes the bridge body even more beautiful. The stream under the bridge is clear, the other side of the bridge is a distant mountain, and there are two mountains nearby, Lion Crack and General Peak. According to the locals, the bridge and its surroundings have formed a Feng Shui pattern of "generals play lions". The red bridge body is set against the green mountains and clear water, which is more light and beautiful.
