Prasat Kravan

Prasat Kravan is a small, easily overlooked temple which you will likely pass on the way to Pre-Rup temple. But it's definitely worth stopping. The carvings in one of the chambers are really impressive.

The Douban Temple is a Hindu temple located south of the Royal Bath. The Douban Temple has five brick pagodas, arranged in the order from north to south, facing the east. The middle one is tallest and the four on both sides are slightly smaller.

Built in 921, the Dompo was reconstructed by the French in the 19th century. The reliefs on the main tower wall depict the Indian mythology of the Vishnu riding the big Peng golden wing bird (Garuda), and the reliefs on the western tower wall depict the auspicious heaven of the Vishnu's consort. The Dompo Temple consists of five red brick temple towers built on a public platform. Its original Sanskrit name is unknown, and the Khmer name is now "Prasat Kravan", meaning "jixiang eagle claw (artabotrys odoratissimus) temple". According to the inscription on the side pillar of the door, the temple was built in 921 AD to serve Vishnu.

Nutmeg Temple is a Hindu temple in Angkor Wat, located in the south of the Royal Bath Pool. The central tower is very special, and its seat is surrounded by a small moat. The interior of the sanctuary is famous for the large shallow reliefs of Vishnu and the auspicious Tiannu carved on red bricks. This kind of sculpture art is very common in Zhanpo temple, but it seldom appears in Khmer relics.

The fourth station is the Douban Temple. It is already very sunset here. The red brick structure of the building materials here is not as hard as the granite, but under the setting sun, it looks particularly enchanting. There are exquisite reliefs on the inner wall of the tower. What can be recognized is the scorpion of the dapeng golden winged bird galuda, and his wife auspicious heavenly daughter. There are several white cattle outside this temple who are eating grass comfortably. This picture of the cow and weaver girl, in front of this sacred temple of the gods, also seems to be the harmony and unity of you. Reminds me of those Indian myths where demons are given a strong humanity, such as Shiva, a conflicting god of destruction and creation, reproduction and destruction, because their imperfections and human desires allow the common people to face God’s authority more objectively. This is similar to the Greek gods, which also constituted a huge difference in later Eastern and Western values.

The Douban Temple is a small but very distinctive temple. It is located on the south side of the Tabulon Temple on the way to Angkor Wat, a site rarely visited by tour groups. The existing part of the temple has five bricks arranged in one word, the tower in the middle is five floors high, the rightmost tower only has three floors, and the other three towers only have the bottom layer. The shape of the tower is slightly different from the other brick towers in Angkor's monuments. It is said that the renovation was carried out in the 1960s and the current temple is well protected. The brick carvings on the walls of the tower are especially worth mentioning. The portraits of Vishnu in Hinduism and the small Buddha statues next to it are very delicately preserved. The tower gate is a stone door frame. This temple is worth seeing. The current direction of the visit is to the west, but the doors of the five towers are open eastwards and the opposite direction of the temple is now entering the temple. To the east of the current brick tower there is a huge brick platform, whether it is the foundation of the building or other facilities. The lawn and trees in front of the platform are also very beautiful against the blue sky and white clouds.
