Built in 921, the Doumen Temple was rebuilt by the French in the 19th century. The relief on the main tower depicts the Indian mythology of the Vishnu riding the Great Gaurda, and the relief on the west tower depicts the auspicious sky of the Vishnu god. The Doumen Temple consists of five red brick temple towers built on a public platform. Its original Sanskrit name is unknown, and the current Khmer name, Prasat Kravan, means the Temple of Artabotrys odoratissimus, which was built in AD 921 and is dedicated to Vishnu, according to the inscription on the doorpost.
Douchan Temple is one of the attractions in Angkor Wat, but because of the small overall space, many tourists are not very interested in this point. Although the Douchan Temple is very small, the small temple is composed of five towers, and the main tower in the middle of the carved "Auspicious heavenly woman" after more than 500 years, still can see the face of the fairy. And the temple is all built by red brick piled, It's very different from the Angkor Wat and the Bayon Temple.
There are a lot of beautiful and lifelike reliefs inside, and they are very well preserved, and they are very delicate, not as big as the reliefs of other troubles, they have the feeling of Xiaojiabiyu.
Cardamom Temple is one of the attractions in Angkor Wat, but because the overall area is small, many tourists are not very interested in this point. Although the Cardamom Temple is very small, it is composed of 5 towers, and the "Auspicious Goddess" carved in the main tower in the middle can still be seen on the face of the fairy after more than 500 years. And the whole temple is made of red bricks, which is completely different from Angkor Wat and Bayon Temple. The Cardamom Temple is a small Hindu temple. It was built very early, compared with other temples (a certain century). Therefore, it is very special because it is made of bricks instead of stones.
When I was sorting out the photos of Cambodia, I saw the Doukou Temple again. Of course, when I was traveling, I used to call it Karafan Temple. We all know that the stone carving aesthetics of Angkor Wat are very attractive, but if we want to understand the origin, we must start with brick carving art. This seemingly inconspicuous small temple represents the symbol of brick carving art in the entire Angkor Wat. The Cardamom Temple, built in 921 AD, has been incompletely preserved. It turned out to be a row of five brick towers, but now three of them are gone, only the base of the tower is left. The tower body, which was originally covered by external plaster, also appeared to fall off, showing the original appearance of red bricks. This red color is most beautiful at sunset and just before the sun rises.
