Photos of Rishiri Island

Rishiri Island is a circular island floating in the Sea of Japan west of Wakkanai, and it is a pair of very famous isolated islands in northern Hokkaido with Rebun Island to the north. Rishiri, a mountain with an altitude of 1721m, stands on the island, which is selected as one of the top 100 famous mountains in Japan. The symbol of Shiroi Koibito is this mountain. "riishiri" in Ainu means "island with mountains". There are also plants such as "Rishiri Poppy" and "Rishiri Lotus", which is a treasure trove of alpine plants.
