One of the lesser known spots in Macau, but nice to visit if you've got time to spare, Hac Sa Beach is the largest natural beach in Macau and part of the Hac Sa Bay Park. The beach is famous for its black sand. Its location on the southeast side of Coloane Island is far from the casinos and loud city life, and nice for some relaxation. One of the oldest local family-run restaurants, Restaurante Fernando, can be found here. Lord Stow's (Portuguese egg tarts) is also close by.The name Hac Sa is translated from Cantonese for "black sand". However, the government has refilled the beach with yellow sand in recent years to prevent sand erosion.
