The Little Arc de Triomphe, also known as the Arc de Triomphe of Caruso, is a triumphal arch in Paris built between 1806 and 1808 to celebrate Napoleon's series of wars in 1805. As the entrance to the Tuileries Gardens, the Little Arc de Triomphe has now become the main symbol of Piazza Caruso. The small Arc de Triomphe is located in Place du Carrousel within the Louvre Museum. Although this gate is smaller than the Paris landmark Arc de Triomphe on the Champs-Elysees, it is also remarkable. The small Arc de Triomphe is 19 meters high, 23 meters wide and 7 meters thick. Between the red and white marble columns are three round arches, which are luxuriously decorated. The central arch is 6 meters high, and the smaller arches on the sides are 4 meters high. Four horses wearing golden horses galloped with the chariot. Napoleon stood on the chariot with a golden crown and a golden olive branch. The goddess of peace and the goddess of victory stood on both sides of the horse. On the four columns below it, there are four mighty warriors, who may be Napoleon's four marshals. When the gate was built, the four war horses were plundered from the Basilica of San Marco in Venice by Napoleon's campaign in Italy. What I see now is a replica, the original was already returned to Italy after Napoleon's abdication in 1815. Bas-reliefs in rose-colored marble on the arches depict Napoleon's diplomatic and military victories, depicting the Treaty of Pressburg, Napoleon's entry into Munich, Napoleon's entry into Vienna, the Battle of Austerlitz, the Treaty of Tilsit and Ur Surrender and other scenes. There are not many tourists here. Generally, Chinese group tourists will visit the Louvre Museum and miss this attraction. If you have more time, you can walk over by yourself and take a photo with the Little Arc de Triomphe in front of Piazza Caruso.
