Nigeria 🇳🇬 I think 4-5 days is a good amount of time for a first trip, and you shouldn't try to travel too many countries across borders because Lagos has traffic and road travel requires extra time. Also, consider the US recommendations. Currently, the situation remains at Level 3: Reconsider Travel. In the southwest, including Lagos, increased caution is needed regarding crime and nighttime travel. 📅 Better Nigeria Itinerary — 5 Days Day 1: Lagos Stay in Victoria Island/Ikoyi area → Explore the city and art sites → Eat Jollof Rice or Suya → Return to hotel before late. Day 2: Lekki Morning: Lekki Conservation Centre → Afternoon: Explore the Lekki area / art sites → Evening: Stay in Lagos. Day 3: Abeokuta Early morning departure with car and driver → Olumo Rock → Itoku Market (see Adire fabrics) → Overnight stay in Abeokuta to avoid rushing back to Lagos. Day 4: Return to Lagos Return in the morning → Rest in the afternoon → Eat Nigerian food / Explore safe areas near the hotel. No additional day trips. Day 5: Relaxing Lagos + Return Trip Visit any restaurants, cafes, or art sites you missed, and allow plenty of time at the airport due to unpredictable traffic.
