Photos of Weizhou Island Lighthouse

A gigantic lighthouse can be seen in the Crocodile Mountain Scenic Area at the southwestern end of Weizhou Island. This is one of the landmarks of Weizhou Island. Although Weizhou Island Lighthouse is the highest spot on the island, it does not open to vistors. It can only serve as a background for tourists to take pictures. The Weizhou Island Lighthouse was established in 1956 as a navigation mark for nearby vessels. The exterior of the lighthouse is affixed with white faux bricks on the outside, and there are spiral staircases inside.
