Dingling Memorial Hall

In Zhangjiakou Hot Spring Village, Hebei, there is a simple and elegant Chinese courtyard, which was where Ding Ling worked and lived at the time. Now, it has been built as a Ding Ling Memorial Hall, recording the Fanghua years of "Miss Wen" and "General Wu". A phonograph is displayed in the Ding Ling Memorial Hall. This phonograph was donated by Ding Ling to her farmer friend Cao Yongming's uncle. In the 1950s, there were few phonographs in Zhangjiakou, which was very precious. Cao Yongming's uncle later sent the phonograph to the farmers' cultural station to enrich the farmers' cultural life.

The hot spring village in Huaiyu Basin is a famous place of grapes. Ding Ling, a progressive writer, participated in the local land reform work here in 1946. The long novel "Sun shines on the Sanggan River" completed in 1948 was created from this place. The memorial hall was the residence of Ding Ling when he worked here, formerly Guandi Temple.
