Qianfoge

Qianfo Pavilion is located at the northern end of South Street in Wuzhi County. It was built in the thirty-sixth year of Jiajing in Ming Dynasty (1557) and rebuilt in the first year of Qingxianfeng (1856). The corridor-style building on the top of the Sanyan Xieshan has five rooms wide and five rooms deep. It is 17.4 meters long from east to west and 15.7 meters wide from north to south. Green glass tiles cover the roof. The bucket arch under the eaves of the upper eaves is made of seven steps and three arches, and the tween paving in the Ming Dynasty is made of two. There are three groups of carvings on the front of the big forehead. On the top of the upper pavilion are the heavenly stems and earthly branches, the five elements of yin and yang, and the eight trigrams and Taiji diagrams. The building of the Thousand Buddha Pavilion is tall, imposing and exquisite in carving. The painting on the top of the pavilion reflects the confluence of Buddhism and Taoism in the Ming and Qing Dynasties.
