The Toyama Trail, a 10-minute walk from Takayama Old Street, is definitely the best maple choice when visiting the mountains in autumn! Kimson, the Japanese warring statesman, loved Kyoto's antique shrine temple style, and ordered the construction of temples in the present-day Chengshan Park. It only takes 10 minutes to walk from the old street. The Dongshan Tour Trail, which is5.5 kilometers long, not only retains 15 ancient temples such as Zongxu Temple and Dongshan Shenming Temple. The atmosphere is very different from the old street with a booming crowd, and you can taste this magnificent autumn.

One of the recommended routes in the alpine city brochure is the Dongshan Tour Trail, suitable for people with a little better physical strength. Our two young people are tired of walking. The elderly next to them are also very energetic. It is really ashamed and leisurely. It is really good.
This walking course covers the temples and shrines of the eastern boundary of Takayam and then some. The route offers a glimpse into the time when the Kanamori Clan ruled here. The 5.5 km recommended route continues south to Shiroyama Park, circling back around in about 2 hours at a leisurely pace.
This is a must do when in Takayama! The course starts in Teramachi, the city's rural suburbs and then heads to Shiroyama Park. Here you'll wander through wooded trails until you reach the former site of Takayama Castle. This is a nice 2-3 hour hike that shows you the diversity of Takayama.
I especially appreciate the humane design of this trail.
