The temple crest is the six sentence coins of the Sanada family.
Original Text
It is said that Hozen Mitsui, a vassal of the Sanada family who moved to Shiraishi in love with the Sanada family's bereaved child, a temple related to the Sanada family, was the founder and used the temple crest as the six sentence coins of the Sanada family. When you enter the mountain gate, there was the main hall in front, the old stone monument of the Mitsui family on the left, the large stone monument of the Heisei 16 Year main hall erected monument, and the statue of Shinran saint on the right. You also had a relationship with the Sanada family here. I felt history again.
It is about a 15-minute walk from JR Shiraishi Station, opposite Jorinji Temple, where the drums from the former Shiraishi Castle are stored. It started when Shigenaga Katakura took over the daughters and retainers of Yukimura Sanada who lost in the Osaka Natsunojin and let them live under Shiraishi Castle. The temple crest of the temple is the Rokubun Renzen of the Sanada family crest.
The founder of seirin Ji Temple located south of Shiraishi Jo castle was hozen Mitsui, a retainer of Yukimura Sanada. According to the guide board, Yukimura Sanada, the master general of the Toyotomi side, entrusted a girl (Ame) to shigenaga katakura, a senior vassal of the date family of the Tokugawa side, just before the fall of the castle. It is said that Shigenaga Katakura later took over the bereaved child of Yukimura and his retainers and made him live in Shiraishi Castle. The temple crest is said to be the Sanada family crest "Rokubunrensen".
It seems that the vassals and children of Yukimura Sanada evacuated to Sendai and hid them by the Kataoka family. Among them, the vassals opened Seirinji Temple, and the tomb of the daughter who married the Kataoka family was at Toshinji Temple. I learned about the mysterious connection between Osaka and Shiraishi. Then I wish I had a little more interaction.
