My grandchildren, from preschoolers to teens, always looked forward to a a trip to the alpaca farm when they visited us. Unfortunately, it closed in the fall of 2018.
The Alpacas of Newfoundland is on the French Ancestors Route. We visited here while in Stephenville. There is a little gift shop that has souvenirs and also little bags of feed you can buy for a dolla...
This is a great stop on a scenic drive. You can get feed for the alpacas at the gift shop and even some socks for yourself. Be careful they sneeze (and that's not so pleasant in your face).
You can check out the alpacas. Maybe start with the store where you can buy food to feed the alpacas. In the store, you can buy high quality alpaca yarn and/or alpaca knit or woven items. Beautiful ...

This is a cute place to stop, especially nice if you have kids who love animals and need a break from travel.
