Palawan Philippines
It boasts white sand beaches and islands, clear blue waters, a spectacular variety of marine life and shipwreck sites, and majestic towering limestone cliffs. If you love swimming, island-hopping, and diving, this biggest island province in the Philippines should be in your travel bucket list.
Palawan has over 1,700 pristine islands and islets scattered in its four main destinations: El Nido, Puerto Princesa, Coron, and San Vicente.
he majority of your activities in Palawan are highly dependent on the weather because they're located outdoors. That's why it's best to plan your trip around the dry months in the Philippines and check weather updates first to avoid canceled tours or rough currents, especially when doing island-hopping tours in Palawan.
Dry and Summer Season | November to May
The best time to go to Palawan and its destinations is during the dry summer season, from November to May. The warmest months are from March to April, the summer season in the Philippines. Palawan tours, especially the underground river tour and island-hopping tours, are best maximized during these months.
However, this is also the peak season since most locals prefer to go to islands and beaches during this time. It is highly recommended to book your tours in advance during the summer season. You can even avail of private tours if you’re in a big group if you prefer the exclusivity.

If you book an island hotel, there will be a free pick-up service; you can also take a one-day tour group. There is only one hotel on the island, Dos Palmas (reserved by the name of the hotel search official website), about 70 rooms, all villas. Villas lined up along the side of the island. The rest of the island remained pristine and covered with jungle. After going to the island, it was basically isolated from the world. Wifi is available only at the reception centre in the centre of the island. In order to save power, each room has one hour of water and electricity outage in the morning and afternoon. Here, finally put down the mobile phone, the Spring Festival to grab a red envelope. It's quiet and far away, as if it's on the horizon. Lie down on the beach, subconsciously and prosperous modern society, developed network telecommunications opened the gap, the brain began to blank. The biggest activity on the island is water sports. If you are a good rower, you can sail around the island in a rubber boat. The sea around the island is very shallow, even many times, and we have to jump into the water to push the stranded boat. As we gradually glide on the boat and get farther and farther away from the shore, there is not a trace of panic and timidity in our hearts, because the water is clearer and clearer, and the wonderful scenery is more and more in front of us. Three or five groups of flying fish, line up across the sea, as we played in childhood, jump over. Even a few flying fish almost came to my face. You can only record this moment with your eyes. The world is really wonderful! Every hour on the island, there is a boat carrying tourists to the floating Pavilion in the sea to snorkel. It's more fun to go to the island or swim. As long as we overcome the fear of water, put on a life jacket, put on a mask of snorkeling, and dive into the water, we can see a world in the water. There are several snorkeling places in Princess Harbor. The coral and rock around the island are the richest, like an underwater palace. I hope I can take some beautiful pictures with a waterproof camera next time. There are not many choices in the island's diet, only in the restaurant of the hotel. Dinner buffet also includes breakfast. It's 100 RMB for one person. It's also very affordable. On New Year's Eve, the hotel specially changed into red tablecloths and hung small lanterns. A singing and dancing party and a grand fireworks were also held.
From Manila to El Nido north of Palawan, Princess Harbor is a must. As the capital of Palawan, it feels like a small county in China. It's very busy and the traffic is a bit chaotic. We stayed overnight and chose the Acacia tree garden hotel near the airport. Although there were no stars, it was very nice, beautiful and comfortable.
