There is a high mountain on the north side with a ski resort called Mt. Hanami. Mt. Hanami is also good, but this Mt. Akashi can be reached by car from the top of the mountain called Kuwahira Pass to the point of about １ｋｍ on Prefectural Road 111. If you walk from there, you can climb the summit in about an hour while relying on the signboard and red tape installed by Niimi Hiking Club 々.
