Riverview has changed — for the worse
We’d been happy here for decades. Wanting to take my kids to their first Hitchcock movie, I called the theater menu ahead of time re: cost (appeared to be $5 matinee). There’s a line where you can talk to somebody directly but got dropped several times so brought extra money in case; it WAS more expensive. Still, no big deal since Riverview has been a great place to go on a budget for years. Then, were made to guess at seating before we could enter (weird, time consuming). Next, because one of my children complained about a sore throat on the way there (we live 45 min. away), asked for extra container for popcorn. Was chewed out(!) and couldn’t even buy one or get from car. Was offered a weird big black plastic bag for my ASD child to worry about (declined). Here’s the kicker. Instead of simply writing a 3-star review, I called later to talk to manager: he was defensive, argued, no apologies. He then called me back again & again—just wanted to argue more, resulting in my 1-star review.

Original lobby and theater - clean surroundings and respectful patrons who love movies!
The price can't be beat: for tickets and refreshments. The popcorn is freshly popped and of great quality. The variety of the films every day is great - a different film every showing of the day.

We loved seeing a movie at the Riverview with our 15 yo daughter. It was fun to show her what theaters looked like in our childhood. And the throwback prices were great too!
