Beautiful artificial lake
Original Text
I stayed at a hotel near Lake Akatani. The view from the hotel looked beautifully shining with emerald green Lake Akatani. It seems that you can also ride canoes and boats.
It is an artificial lake (dam lake) near Sarugakyo Onsen. If you come by bus from Kamimokogen Station ~ Yujuku Onsen, you can see it before you arrive at Sarugakyo Onsen. Originally, Sarugakyo Onsen seems to have been under this dam lake, and it seems that the current hot spring town was relocated and formed by doing this. It's a pretty beautiful lake. I just looked at it from above while on the hot springs, but if you go down, there is a promenade and you can fish and play boats.
Run No. 17 along the lake and there is a parking lot down the front of the convenience store, where you can prepare canoes. You can bring canoes for 500 yen and use the pier. Some people enjoy SAP, fishing, rowing boats, etc. on the lake. There was a waterfall in the back, and there were quite a lot of people in that place. The scenery is good and you can spend time slowly.
Thanks to the creation of Lake Akatani, the former city of Sarugakyo is the bottom of this dam. And the current city has moved to a hill due to the construction of a dam. However, the view of Lake Akatani from the city is outstanding. It's a really beautiful view.
Down the slope from Naeba to Tsukiyano by long-distance drive. 17 I stopped by Aimata Dam on the way on Route. It's a small dam. Lake Akatani is made of the Aimata Dam. There is a parking lot at the entrance. If you enter the path as it is, you can walk to the top of the dam. It feels good and gets closer and increases the sense of intimacy.
