　Katsuyama developed as a castle town during the Muromachi period, and flourished as a post town on the Izumo Highway as a base for shipping during the Edo period. It was a strategic base and a key point of transportation. It seems that the remains still remain here and there, but I couldn't find it well. However, when viewed from a distance, it is clear that the Asahikawa River is a harbor site that used it as a natural moat.

Katsuyama Castle is located at the edge of the Katsuyama cityscape preservation district. It's a pity that Sannomaru is in the library and Ninomaru is grant.
