It is a Zen temple of the Soto sect at the western foot of Mt. Futooyama in Maibara City. It has its roots in a temple built by Mr. Kyogoku, the guardian of Omi Province during the period of the Northern and Southern Dynasties. The monk of Hikone Daiunji Temple during the parade pityed the statue of Holy Kannon, the principal image of the statue that escaped the disaster, when it was destroyed by a fire, and was enshrined in an old small hall over a long period of time. It is said that it was restored as Seigishiji Temple. The temple name is due to the Tsuruga people who made efforts to revive. Omi Shichifukujin Sacred Ground ... scattered in the Koto (Eastern Lake Biwa) area.

After that, it declined, but it seems that it was restored as a temple of the Soto sect by the Hikone clan. The temple here is famous for its garden. It also owns a cultural property designated by Maibara City.

The garden is larger than expected, and unlike the general dry landscape garden, it is a tsukiyamarin spring style garden, so I spent more time in front of the garden than I planned.

I couldn't make it in time to see the garden, probably because it was late. Sorry! I went home looking at the mountain gate and the main hall.
