The ruins of the early Jomon period called "Tochihara Iwain Ruins" are located in Kitaaiki Village, and it was a museum centered on the excavated items from here. The place is a magnificent building next to the village office, but the village office itself is located along the river in the valley, and it feels like going down from the main road in the village. I felt that the approach was difficult to understand unless I carefully looked at the road guidance. Usually Mondays are closed, admission hours are from 9 am to 4 pm, and the admission fee was 200 yen.
Entering from the national highway side, there is a public hall, a village office, and a museum on the same site on the right side of the road. Signboards may be a little confusing. Skeleton specimens, earthenware, tools, etc. are on display. The excavation site is also preserved a little near the national highway, so I think it's a good idea to stop by on the way back from the museum.
