It is the tomb of the first emperor in the mythical world. It is said that it was maintained from Tsukayama in the Meiji era as a change of governance, and I feel the vastness and tranquility among the surrounding tombs. I feel the atmosphere that is common to Sakakibara Jingu in both symbolic and political senses during the Meiji era.

初代の天皇

神武天皇は歴代最初の天皇だが、神話上の人物で、実在したがどうかは定かでない。それはさておき、この御陵は森のように広大で、荘厳な空気に満ちている。橿原神宮へ行くなら、ぜひ訪れたい場所と言える。

初代天皇墓所

　近鉄橿原線・畝傍御陵前下車。徒歩10～15分程度で到着。日本書紀や古事記で初代天皇とされる神武天皇の御陵で、大和三山のひとつ「畝傍山」近くにあり、荘厳な雰囲気漂う。猛暑の中の参拝者は私一人だけでした。
