Original Text
Shomeiji is a temple of the Shingon sect Koya school located about a 15-minute walk from JR Kakogawa Station. It is a historic temple that is said to have been opened by Prince Shotoku. This area is the ruins of Kakogawa Castle. It is selected as one of the 60 Kakogawa Selections 1 in my town. When you follow the cobblestone approach, the mountain gate welcomes worshipers. There are temples such as the main hall, Daishido, Kannondo, and Fudodo. There is also a large ginkgo tree in the precincts. This is a recommended spot for those who are interested in history, shrines and temples.
