One of the main shrines in Hachinohe city
Original Text
It is Jinja Shrine on the mountain of Mt. Choja in Hachinohe city. Founded in 1678, it is the stage of Hachinohe's main festivals such as the Hachinohe Sansha Grand Festival. Unfortunately, I felt that there was a sign of devastation in the precincts when I visited, but it was a good atmosphere place. There is a red stamp.
At first glance, it is a small shrine, but it seems to be one of the important shrines in the local area as a shrine for the Hachinohe City Sansha Festival and martial arts (Japanese polo?). The day I went was unpopular and quiet, but a white dog welcomes me at the shrine office.
It is a venerable shrine built by the Hachinohe feudal lord, and old buildings remain in the precincts. It is also the base of Hachinohe's famous festival.
If you want a red stamp, there was a poster saying that you would go to the office, so when I visited the office, I was told to go home without writing. This is the first time I have been visiting and have such an unpleasant feeling.
The equestrian balls held during the summer Sansha Festival are a Shinto ritual that you should definitely see. It is a rule that men dressed as samurai from the horse divide into teams and throw one ball into the position of the opponent team. (Like Western "cricket"?) It is quite interesting. It is held at this shrine on the middle day of the Sansha Grand Festival.
