Yang Liping Grand Theater is located between Cangshan Mountain and Erhai Lake in Dali. The architectural concept of the theater comes from the intention of "watermarking Cangshan Mountain". The soft floating roof of the building is inspired by the local nature, just like the reflection of Cangshan Mountain in Erhai Lake, attracting tourists to visit. The theater was designed by Zhu Pei, a master architect. The design of the building adheres to the traditional Chinese theory of yin and yang. The yin and yang complement each other, and the virtual and real coexist, which strongly reflects the local people's way of life, and embodies the wonder of "traveling" in Chinese gardens. The main function of the theater is to display Dali's local culture and art, and it integrates multiple functions such as art space, performance, exhibition, entertainment, etc. The performance program in the theater is "Yang Liping's Classic Works Collection", which is divided into six programs: "Inspiration" dances with drums, thunderous drumming and solemn dances, colliding with highly appealing pictures with Yunnan folk customs; "Moonlight" expresses her emotions and the holiness of moonlight with abstract and changeable body language; "Nation of Daughters" incisively and meticulously describes the hardships and nobility of ethnic minority women in Yunnan with just a few simple sentences in Yunnan dialect; In "Ticket", the Bai guys and the Bai girls sang and danced, and jointly performed a piece of Dali Jianchuan Bai tune and dragon head sanxian song and dance with strong Bai characteristics; "Spirit of the Bird" created a dream, in that mysterious place, the river of life is flowing , washing and purifying our souls.
