It is a privately run museum located in the shopping street behind Takegawara Onsen, which is famous for Beppu Onsen. It's relatively close to the wharf shrine, but it's a private house for a few minutes, so I hesitate to go inside. Admission is free at the museum, which opened the rise and fall of Beppu Onsen Town with personal collection of ethnic materials.

It seems that the first floor of the private house has been remodeled and opened as a museum, and there were other visitors, so I also took a peek.
