The Auckland Hop On Hop Off Explorer bus isn't the double decker sorts that you'll find in other cities. These buses seem like second hand school buses. The spots they visit aren't that interesting: the Ferry Building, Bastion Point, Kelly Tarlton's Aquarium (which has its own shuttle), Parnell Rose Gardens, Holy Trinity Cathedral, Auckland Museum, Parnell Village, Civic Theater Corner, SkyCity, and Americas Cup Viaduct Harbor. If you want to go to more than a couple of these, the price might be worth it. However, the start and stop times aren't that far apart, so you have to get off at each thing you want to see rather than taking a loop and deciding later.
