Located across the Yamuna River, the Little Taj Mahal is also a Mughal-era mausoleum built by Nur Jahan, the concubine of Jahangir, for her parents between 1622-1628. Although the Little Taj Mahal is a small cemetery, it is surrounded by grass, white marble and green grass. It is in an important position in the history of Mughal architecture. It is the beginning of the transition of Mughal architecture from the majestic simplicity of the early days to the graceful elegance of the later generations.
