Weinan Drum Tower is located in Laocheng Street, Xiangyang Office, Linwei District, Weinan City, Shaanxi Province. It was the gate of the guesthouse of the Weinan Military Sub-district of Shaanxi Province. In the second year of Ganlu (360 AD) of Fu Jian of the Former Qin Dynasty, Weinan County was established, and the county seat was named after the south bank of the Weihe River. In the ninth year of Daye (613 AD) of the Sui Dynasty, Weinan Drum Tower was built at the current site. During the Hongwu period of the Ming Dynasty, when the county magistrate Wu Yun expanded the county seat, he merged the Drum Tower with the County Office and made it the gate of the County Office. In the 34th year of Jiajing, a major earthquake occurred in Hua County, and the Drum Tower was destroyed. It was rebuilt the following year and repaired in the Qing Dynasty.
